OnePlus reveals more details about the 15R, including the chipset powering it
Last month, OnePlus started teasing three new products that it's going to fully unveil on December 17: the OnePlus 15R, the OnePlus Pad Go 2, and the OnePlus Watch Lite.
Today, the company has revealed more details about the trio. Let's start with the OnePlus 15R smartphone. This is now confirmed to come with an AMOLED screen boasting "1.5K" resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The panel can go down to 2 nits at night, or even 1 nit when you activate Reduce White Point.
The handset will also use OnePlus' new DetailMax Engine for photos, which premiered on the OnePlus 15 with three "advanced technologies": Ultra Clear Mode, Clear Burst, and the Clear Night Engine. All three of these will be in the 15R as well.
The OnePlus 15R is powered by Qualcomm's recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. It will be the first device to launch globally using this chipset. The 15R also has the G2 Wi-Fi chip, and the Touch Response Chip, both developed in-house.
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 has a 12.1-inch screen with "2.8K" resolution and a peak brightness of 900 nits. This tells us it's an LCD panel, and OnePlus says it reaches 98% of the DCI-P3 color space while supporting Dolby Vision.
Finally, the OnePlus Watch Lite is advertised to last for over 10 days of typical use on one charge, which tells us that it won't run Wear OS. It has over 100 sports modes, a heart rate monitor, a blood oxygen sensor, dual-band GPS, and "comprehensive health tracking", including "a 60-second Wellness Overview".
The watch comes in "a premium Phantom Black finish", is made from stainless steel, will be scratch resistant, and is 8.9mm thick while weighing only 35g. It boasts a 1.46-inch AMOLED screen with 3,000-nit peak brightness in Sports Mode, and 600-nit peak brightness "for daily use". It will support being connected to both Android and iOS devices.
