Oppo's smart assistant confirms Color OS 12 release date

Color OS is Oppo’s heavily customized skin layer over Android. The OS is skinned on Oppo smartphones all over the world, and OnePlus devices have already dropped Hydrogen OS in favor of Color OS, though only in China.

Version 12 of Color OS (based on Android 12) has been in the beta phase for the past few months, but the OS will be receiving its final public release on September 13, this is indirectly confirmed through Oppo’s smart assistant Breeno and the screenshot was posted to Weibo.

The assistant even mentioned that Color OS 12 will be dropping at 3PM (local China time). The follow-up reports state that the assistant’s answer has changed since the initial reporting and now only responds with “to be revealed soon, please stay tuned.”

Google has not yet confirmed a release date for the public release of Android 12. The new Android version has been in beta for several months, but Google did instruct app developers that they should be finalizing their apps for Android 12. Should the Oppo slip up be true, the public release for Android 12 should be taking place on or before September 13.

I don't like iPhone either but oppo has a long history of copying Apple's wired marketing stunts like i remember siri leaked the date of apple's launch event (it was on purpose i bet) now oppo did the same thing and the list goes on e...

Hope realme also follows fast in releasing realme ui (for X7max) as its basically a renamed colorOS with some features stripped (I wish they bring those too)
