Oppo Find N faces shortages as 1 million people register to buy it

Yordan, 10 January 2022

The Oppo Find N was unveiled less than a month ago, and the first batch immediately sold out. The demand for the foldable is so high, the brand cannot keep up with the orders, and the Find N is facing supply issues as 1 million people registered their interest in the phone.

Liu Bobbee, Oppo China President, revealed the main reason for the high demand was the attractive price of CNY7,699/CNY8,999 (about $1,200/$1,400), as well as the small form factor and the practically invisible crease on the inner display.

Reservations for smartphones in China work differently than around the world - users sign up with their email to receive information when stock comes in. So one million users aren't actually ready to purchase the phone, but they are considering it.

Even so a high number of registrations indicates high popularity of the device. Sadly, the Find N will not make it outside China. Hopefully, Oppo will give its global fans a different foldable phone in the near future.

Err, Find N is actually 4gm heavier than the Fold3 with both having almost same thickness when folded. If we take into account the smaller screen sizes, Find N is a less efficient packaging.
