joe nodden, 08 Apr 2020Oooo another overpriced underpowered "lite" phone. There is a pre-sale where you get the OPPO Enco W31 (worth 79 Euro) for free, so it is in fact not such a bad deal.

                            That's over priced

TheGoldenMellifluous, 07 Apr 2020That's because Snapdragon 865 has separated the X55 5G mode... moreSamsung didn't disable 5G on snapdragon 865 s20s. Only Exynos 990 phones don't all have 5G since Samsung doesn't include 5G modem in all of the 990s.

Oooo another overpriced underpowered "lite" phone.

Shady69, 06 Apr 2020sammy somehow managed to do so on the s20 lineup, they put ... moreThat's because Snapdragon 865 has separated the X55 5G modem, to begin with, pal. Qualcomm never integrated both Snapdragon 865 and X55 5G Modem in the first place, despite Qualcomm forced OEMs to buy them in one package (hence costing the CPU alone up to US$130, according to the analysis of analyst). The OEMs could probably disabled the 5G modem with the software inside. And flagship phone in some countries is a must, to showcase top of the line or bring faster profit gain per unit sale, despite the 5G connection is far from ready, so they had to do it with this software workaround.

So, that's why some flagships only have 4G-enabled, despite the X55 5G modem itself inside of the phone components (like the S20 Series). In another hand, 765 was integrated with its X52 5G modem from the start, so even it can be disabled by software, the 5G inside the 765/765G always be there. Hence, disabling the 5G in 765/765G probably useless, as 765 was meant to bring 5G in mid-ranger price area, so those OEMs who already obtained rather leave it to enable, compared to 865/855+/855. The same will applied to the next 600-series 5G or possibly, 800 Series with 5G integrated inside the chipset. As an appendix, mid-rangers are bringing higher total units per sale rather than the profit per unit sale, so mid-rangers with 765 don't sell everywhere, compared to the flagship with 865.

TheGoldenMellifluous, 06 Apr 2020IDK dude, but how you're gonna asked them to remove the 5G ... moresammy somehow managed to do so on the s20 lineup, they put the 865 and half the phones were 4g, so, its possible to just put the 765 without the 5g modem.

Shady69, 06 Apr 2020take away the 5g crap and remove a 150$ off its price tag.IDK dude, but how you're gonna asked them to remove the 5G modem if you know the 5G modem in Snapdragon 765G (and 765) is integrated on the processing, rather than separated like the one on 865/855+/855? It's like removing a few neurons from a human coordination system... Just saying (I don't defend anything here...)

take away the 5g crap and remove a 150$ off its price tag.
