Well i can tell you, most other flagship phones will appear as a midrange phones when standing next to this! specially Samsung's garbage. It has a high special specs, 2 periscope cameras with great quality, unique Luxurious design and materials, only looking at it is delicious and fun! specially the brown leather version.

adsubzero, 26 Jun 2024Portrait in this case =/= vertical. It's the common na... moreJoining this discussion late but just got in the market for a new phone and considering the Oppo Find X7 Ultra. Don't know why a bokeh special effect for high resolution video is so important to you. If a phone has it, great, but it has so little actual application that not having any at all would not be a factor in my making a choice here. As a lifelong photographer I have never heard of a bokeh blurring effect being "portrait." Portrait means vertical orientation rather than horizontal. Anyway, I am really impressed with the range and quality of photo and video systems this phone has. It is not a like-for-like replacement for a top of the line digital camera with a range of exchangeable lenses but it specs out to be a great portable option when I can't manage something bulkier. Looks like pricing compared to the competition is also favorable. Will have to delve a bit deeper into the telephoto features as I use these extensively, but so far the Ultra looks like a winner to me.

Portrait is a vertical image, landscape is horizontal. The f-stop in a digital camera mimics the in-focus or out of focus depth of field of a physical aperature, or lens opening to adjust the amount of light hitting film. Of course, digital is not film, so it is mainly useful for the incidental bokeh effect, where backrounds are in focus or not. Now, taking a portrait shot of someone's face, you might want to blur the background, that is bokeh adjustment and can be adusted with the f-function. Using that function with video still allows you to manually choose resolutions including 4k and frame rates like 60 frames per second. Saying a portait (vertical) orientation of the camera limits video resolution and frame rates is just wrong.

The f function has nothing to do with portrait or landscape video. It is to adjust f stop or aperture to let more or less light into whichever camera you are using on the phone. You will have a rotating dial pop up on screen to make that adjustment. The resolution and the frame rate default drops once you enter the custom f stop feature but you can just enable 4K and a different frame rate after setting the f stop you want. Master mode directly offers a lot of fine tuning options where you will find you need to adjust settings as the "easy" presets won't carry over.

If you have an Oppo Find X7 Ultra, set your video resolution to 4K. Now tap the ƒ symbol which enables portrait video, and watch your resolution be set to 1080p 30fps immediately. So, like I said, portrait video is limited to 1080p 30fps.
