Coming to the end of 2024, the Oppo Find X7 Ultra remains one of the absolutely best phones released this year. Sure you can nitpick, there is no perfection and never will be so long as tech continues to advance, but the cost/value proposition for one of the best camera phones available today is unmistakable. The regular Find X7 is also worthy if you don't need a second telephoto camera and are looking for a something a bit less expensive. The rumors and leaks are now flowing about the Find X8, it looks like the successor will be every bit as interesting an option for folks that can hold off a purchasing decision for a month or two.

All good except the screen design which is very outdated. It looks same like Oneplus 7 Pro or 8 Pro. It should bring a design with thin bezels like new iPhone or S24 Ultra.

That Oppo Phone Manager app has so many optimizations it should be the first stop for anyone using these phones. I used to just run the Trinity Engine optimization for fastest app loads and memory tweaks. Now I am running the Phone Manager once a day, it is fast and catches//resolves issues automatically. I have bad eyes so I also use Auto Brightness, Adaptive Tone and Dark Mode. Under Power Saving/Battery - Optimize Battery Use - enabled all my apps. Like the prior poster said, this phone has a lot of ways to be as efficient as it is powerful, no reason not to make the features work for you with a little menu diving.

meme queen, 07 Sep 2024the battery life is not as good as its sister OnePlus 12. I... moreSeriously? Are you keeping both wifi and cell data on 24/7? You must be keeping LOTS of apps open overnight. And they keep on updating and refreshing and whatnot. Do yiu need wifi on in your car, cell service on at night? If you have a bad connection the phone keeps trying to connect over and over, try looking at what connects strongest and default to that. Oppo phones have excellent intelligent quick charging. Go to the Phone Manager app and run optimization. You will get lots of suggestions based on your usage. Better yet, go to the Power Saving tab in that app and switch Smart Charging on, it saves battery life, adding longevity, AND gives yoy very fast top ups as you need them. Personally, I would shut down apps that are not in use and default to Sleep Standby Optimization. These recommendations apply to all phones but not using them on a premium phone like this that has so many efficiency features makes me wonder why you pay that premium and then never use those features.

Anonymous, 02 Sep 2024How is the battery life on this device?the battery life is not as good as its sister OnePlus 12. I have to car charge this Oppo phone either on the way to or back home from work. If i don't do that, then by the end of the day I'm close to 20% battery. this was the case on September 4 when i didn't bring my car charger with me, and i charged it overnight but it only went from 20 to 78%. i unplugged it to check, then plugged it back in to finish charging

How is the battery life on this device?

If only these Chinese manufacturers would stop creating iOS clones in their customization layers* this phone would be even better than it already is.

Questions, 22 Jul 2024Why are you confused? Did you not read the reviews availabl... moreI really don't even understand anything in that dudes comment about"he wouldn't use the fake" looks like a nice phone to me .wish it was 7.2 inches but anything bigger than what it is would be nicer for me.i like to use my phone for so much to show other people details .and for golf and baseball training slow mo videos.even movies and a tiny little screen justmakes it frustrating for students to watch when showing flaws in swing that need to be changed.etc.and the smaller the screen size the more my posture suffers and my neck and back get more hunched.i also wish it had a larger batt. And another big issue is I like a 3.5 jack so I can have option to use either style of headphones corded or non .I hate with a passion having to keep track of a USBC headphone splitter dongle to charge while listening.also I always end up leaving or looseing my USB headphones and always have access to standarf plug on a borrowed or. Anotherset of headphones.recently on vacation I misplaced and lost my USBC phones and the only new ones available to buy at any stores were 3.5 type so i jist suffered there and tjen on the flight home.i never want a phpne without a 3.5jack!

Huh, 28 Jun 2024Joining this discussion late but just got in the market for... moreI was just arguing the technicalities, I would actually never use that fake nonsense no matter the resolution, whether it's photo or video. And yes I hate the term "portrait" that's commonly given to the photo with background blur just as much as you, but sadly it has become a standard thanks to some OEMs.

By the way I do own the phone, and it is exceptional in almost everything, the camera being one of its major points. I do have some complaints though, most of which have to do with software. They have lately pushed some questionable updates that really made the performance tumble, and also there are some weird app launch delays. Hopefully it would be fixed soon but it's been more than a month or two so it's disappointing to see (Chinese OnePlus version with ColorOS has the same issues by the way). Also there is quite a lot of bloatware as expected with a Chinese only phone, but luckily most can be removed the normal way, while some things require adb. Don't expect Android Auto or Google Assistant to work properly, and connecting a smartwatch may be a hit or miss.

Other than that most would be very happy with the phone. It is one of the rare few that have a usable stock camera app along with great camera hardware.

Did you not read the reviews available for both of these phones? Do you expect folks to read your mind to find out what features you need or just prefer? Here is a simple answer – the Oppo X7 Ultra is one of the best flagship camera phones in the world, The Oppo X7 and OnePlus are a step below in features but are also excellent options. Both of the Oppo X7 phones offer truly great value at their respective price points, but the best deals are found in China, their target market. OnePlus has a global distribution and costs more due to that distribution and servicing.
