don't worry, since 2018 Oppo have started to upgrade their phones, be it with big delay.
R15x will soon get ColorOS 6 Android 9.

Now a days these phones last for just one or one and a half years and become use and throw. Then where is the time for upgrading. It is nonsense to speak about upgrading a phone. Before you try for such options, they would have released two more versions. Always be practical and be content with what you buy.

buying this instead of k1 makes no sense.
the two are really identical except k1 is 6/64 while r15x is 6/128 with a price difference of 700rmb(usd100).you can add a 64gb sd card to the k1 for less than $10 to make it exactly(almost) identical to r15x.
they say the two are for different markets, k1 for online sale while r15x can be bought in shops, is that difference worth $90?
