R9S is for photography only but not for vediography & gaming, it doesn't have OIS (cry), also has got snapdragon 625 cpu is lower & 1year older whether 652 is running (cry more)!, so it's the best midranger point & shoot smartphone having the latest sony sensor with very large aperture 1.7 yo

Hi guys,
I just bought R9S for a week, here's my personal short review on this phone.
I am using Huawei Honor 7 before I upgraded or changed to this Oppo R9S, I was in the middle of dilemma whether choose this or Honor 8 coz I fell in love with the Honor 8 all blue glass design and the dual camera, but sadly the blue color only comes in 64gb version which is pricier by RM200, 32GB RM1699 & 64GB RM1899 both with 4GB ram.
That's when I turn around for other options, because I personally thought that 32GB of additional storage definitely doesn't worth of RM200! I can easily slot in any 64GB micro SD at below RM100 and that's double the 32GB RM200 I will be paying for!
Then there is where the marketing works, I saw Oppo advertisement while at cinema showing selfie camera Oppo R9S, so I check it out at mobile store to experience the display set in flesh.
I was so impressed that the camera captured so fast, below 1 second. Then I found out that it doesn't have OIS (Optical image stabilization) , but it still has EIS (Electronic image stabilization) which makes the AF (Auto Focus) in no time! I love this function very much because I used to take photo of my gf with my shaky hand and get "praised" by her everytime I snapped a blur pictures of her, now I have this camera phone, this "praising" case can finally put in rest.
Secondly I'm impressed with the selfie camera or front camera, it has a humongous 16MP, that wasn't the only things which impressed, the beauty mode was amazing! It doesn't like the typical camera 360 apps that we usually used, it beautify and smoothen our shots like an original image! Now I understand why they call it selfie phone or camera phone, you just need to slides out your phone and snap!
The third reason is the price and specs, I am not a phone maniac so I will not go thru very details but what we as a potential phone buyer will usually looking for, first of all of course is the camera, secondly is the 4GB ram and 64GB of internal memory, the last but not least is I must say you must hold the phone physically, trust me, it feels premium just like iPhone!
Which phone company doesn't copy iPhone design language nowadays. It was so light, which phone with 5.5 screen weights below 150 grams anyway. The price was standing at RM1798 , if compared to Honor 8 4GB ram 64GB internal memory RM1899, there's another RM101 premium just for the additional dual camera and whole glass body which might catches a lot of fingerprints unless you put on casing, but then what's the point of having a full glass body for?
At last I opt for Oppo R9s, below was my experience of one week usage if you are not feeling that my review are quite boring and my grammar was failed big time and would like to read along.
The first thing I noticed was the battery usage, I was using Honor 7 before this, the first day I use this phone for internet browsing thru 4G(not Wi-Fi), the battery consumes 30% for the first 3 hours of the day, this literally translates 10% for each hour of usage with 4G browsing compared to Honor 7 which consumes average of 25% for the same amount of 3 hours usage with 4G internet browsing, this also means the battery will 100% drains out if you are going to use it directly for 10 hours, example when you are traveling on long flight or traveling on bus to somewhere far or holiday outdoor which requires you to stay outdoor for the entire day(holiday guys will understand) which you need to take non stop pictures and when you rest at coffee shop you need to use your phone to online or upload your pictures or etc which confirmed the usage will be more than 10 hours.
But the good thing is it has VOOC charging or fast charging which could charge up your phone to more than 50% in half an hour! Yes it's half and hour for 50% of juices, not many Androids could actually archives it nowadays, especially mid-ends price phone range.
Another thing I noticed was also the camera, although it's fast focusing and crystal clear, once I zoomed in I noticed it doesn't really reflects like a 16MP lens, or maybe I'm too sensitive, but you can try to compare this 16MP with Honor 8 dual lens 12MP camera, at a glance it might look the same, but once you zoomed in the 12MP looks more details, but also maybe it's my own preference, all in all it still have a very decent camera with this price range!
Display are using Amoled, Samsung are using Super Amoled for quite some time already, the display was not bad but when under direct sunlight, the view can be challenging, it's not the best but still can live with it.
The fingerprint sensor, just wow, Honor said they have the best fingerprints sensor, yes because they can use for multi tasking such as set shortcuts to open apps such as facebook or camera, also you can slide it down to open notifications from the fingerprint sensor located at the back of the phone, but talking about fast fingerprint recognize, Oppo R9s was almost instant! You couldn't even count the second, don't believe me? Try out yourself.
My summary is, if you love selfie and fast snapshot without needing to wait for the so called OIS to focus(which might takes up to seconds), then this is the phone for you.
If you love premium and doesn't want to spend a significant amount of money to buy mid range phone, this is the phone for you with a decent 4GB of ram and 64GB of storage.
There is no perfect phone, just like cars, there must be some plus and minus, just buy what you like and live with it, just my many cents coz I write quite a lot, thank for reading up until here, have a good day ahead, cheers!
