Yordan, 12 December 2019

Oppo will introduce the Reno3 lineup on December 26 and we already have seen a lot of press renders and other official images of the Reno3 Pro device, expected to have 5G.

Up until now, we didn’t have live shots of the device, but thanks to a Chinese blogger, we finally got to see the Reno3 Pro in real life.

The Oppo Reno3 Pro has the Oppo Reno2, iPhone 3GS, Nokia 5300, and the old-timey Motorola 888 that is so old, even we don’t have it in our database.

The blogger compared the devices and how they got thinner with time, with the Motorola being 50 mm, then the Nokia getting down do 21.88 mm, while the iPhone 3GS got as slim as possible in 2009 - 12 mm.

Since we are talking about Oppo’s evolution, the Reno2 thrown in the mix is 9.29 mm. With a 7.7 mm body, the Reno3 can easily snatch the award for “Thinnest flagship of 2019”, but this leaves the question of what would happen with all the needed stuff like a battery, glass protection on front and back and actual physical buttons.

There is also the matter with the 5G modem that will come coupled with the Snapdragon 765G chipset.

what's the use of racing for thinness when the phone become easier to bend and what about ugly camera bulge that cannot let users lay phone flat on table? and also sacrificing battery juice?

Oh please, not the thinning again, the thinning trend back in 2015 created a generation of phones with crappy battery and/or huge camera humps.
