Our vivo X70 Pro+ video review is out

Michail, 02 November 2021

The latest device added to our video review series is vivo’s X70 Pro+ – the maker’s top-end flagship to close out the year. So what exactly do you get over the outgoing vivo X60 Pro+, how does the phone perform in day-to-day tasks and what about that giant camera bump on the back? Angie is here to answer all these questions and more.

The first thing you notice about the X70 Pro+ is its size. The phone is taller, wider and weighs about 28 grams more than the X60 Pro+ which is definitely felt in hand. The back features one of the largest camera bumps around and is complemented by a shiny glass surface that can act as a mirror for rear-camera selfies.

Speaking of cameras, X70 Pro+ delivers some of the best shots on mobile. The main 50MP sensor and 48MP ultrawide snapper with gimbal stabilization remain unchanged from the X60 Pro+ as does the 8MP periscope lens. The only difference comes in the 12MP 2x telephoto shooter features a brighter f/1.6 lens than the 32MP f/2.1 module found on the X60 Pro+. In reality, you can’t really tell the difference between the two setups but that’s not a bad thing as the X60 Pro+ was already amongst the best camera phones of the year.

Elsewhere the larger 6.78 QHD AMOLED panel now sports LTPO tech for variable refresh rates from 1Hz to 120Hz and is drawing 25% less power than the previous model. The Snapdragon 888+ at the helm is the latest and greatest flagship SoC from Qualcomm though we did not see a noticeable diffrence compared to the SD 888 in our tests. Another nice new touch is the added IP68 dust/water resistance and the slightly larger 4,500 mAh battery with the same great 55W charging.

As always, if you want to check out all the detailed benchmark scores and photo samples you can head over to our written review.
