I love my Palm. Everyone jokes about the size but I carry it around in my shirt pocket and amaze everyone with the capabilities of the unit. I would like to get a new unit because I am kinda rough and it gets scratched and banged around but has always worked. My only complaint is the battery and I expected that and plan the time needed to recharge during the day.

My Palm is my favorite bit of tech. The size & design are fantastic and I can compensate for needing to charge often; nothing I want to do that I can't with it. Unfortunately it looks like it won't work when 3G goes away in 2022 and VoLTE capability will be required. I hope Palm has a solution or another model coming but they haven't (yet) responded to my customer support requests. I'd love to hear if someone knows of anything along these lines.

This Palm company is a new company - the 'original' PALM company sold itself to HP - but the HP president who would have done Palm great was kicked out for 'improprieties' - the next pres was a software guy from Europe who did not like the Palm so it was basically crippled, then he was out in less than six months followed by Meg Whitman who just killed off all the Palm hardware. They sold the name to the new/current company which brought out this Palm phone - in the same mold as the original and PDA Palm equipment - small and useful. Also - apparently Palm is coming out with some announcement later in Oct (28?) - as for the short battery life - well it IS a small phone so plug it in when in car/office/home and gets the job done - just probably won't be part of a story of someone surviving on the side of a mountain for a week and was still able to have the phone ping (satellite phones will work better in those situations - just suggesting)

I have been using this phone for almost a year and I am quite happy with it.
It works on 4G in Spain.
I just want a phone for calls and make picture, and not a brick in my pocket. I don´t even notice I am carrying it.
I don´t have wasap or social stuff, so no too much need to type.
For movies I use my home TV.
When I play games I use my Index VR device.
When I travel I look through the window of the plane or train to see the sightseen, or read a book (physical one).
When I am working I use my other A40 phone for work, I only carry one or the other.
Pictures are quite decent with the 12Mp camera.

I would not say it is for minimalist people, it is just for normal people who does one thing at a time and enjoy life as we did before.

The strange thing are that between the Palm Palm and the Iphone12mini, there is nothing in between with a decent camera.

              - Is not compatible with any 4G networks in Europe.
              - The build quality is exceptional.
              - The battery life is horrendous.
              - For the price it is worth the shortfalls.

I don't think this is from the actual Palm company (the PDA one).

This little phone is great for it's intended use. If you are the type that uses your smartphone most of the time for news, social media and watching videos this is NOT for you. If you use your smartphone primarily as a phone instead for multimedia and entertainment this little phone is almost perfect. I use mine as a phone and for this purpose it's excellent. The phone construction is superb with aluminum body and glass front and back. It feels like a premium phone and it is a premium phone. It's small by design so if small is not what you want look elsewhere. Anyone complaining about the small screen misses the whole point of the phone's design. It is a lot more customizable than you would think from the photos and video reviews. My home screen has call, contacts and messenger icons.
None of the other installed app icons are visible from my home screen. It looks clean and tidy instead of cluttered. Swipe once to the right and there is a large display size digital clock. Swipe up from the home screen and all the app icons are there.
It's a minimalist phone as intended.
As far as specs go, it's more than adequate for what most should use it for. Having 3 GB RAM in a phone this small is actually impressive. If you have it and it feels sluggish, it's because of background applications. I disabled every app that I don't use and couldn't uninstall. Once configured to my liking, I find it very responsive and without lag. Keep in mind, it's a "phone" and not a media consumption device. The battery is admittedly small but I get more than a day of use on a single charge.

I think higher capacities have spoiled you into believing something is useful if it can withstand your usage. Stop using tour phone all of the time.

According to it's size, it should have 512 mb ram

Buy Nord instead of this for 400 dollars.
                                It's much worthy.

OTOH I use BT devices, Anker and Fender put out some very nice earbuds for under $40.
My 24 hour battery Parrott headset cost half the price of the phone but fits over my hearing aids nicely.

FWIW I just activated a Palm for my Darling Wife. She will be using a Plantronics Voyager 5200 earpiece as her work setup.
