I got one at Auspost and i took it back afew days later . the camera on the phone is really bad quality and so are the videos you can take with it . the sound if you play music files on it is really bad due to only one rubbish speaker on it, if you turn the volume to the hioghest setting the sound crackles and is distorted . the outside screen is rubbish to you cant change the brightness . and also when connecting the software to a computer it looks like it was written by some highschool student and ive had alot of trouble connecting the the phone to a computer , having to reset the phone on a number of times . and now that i took the phone back i tried to uninstall it but it wont go ill have to format my computer to get rid of it . thats why the phone is so cheap and it is also not locked i know because i tried my vodaphone sim in it and it worked .You get what you pay for , thats why they are so cheap . Im going back to nokia , much more stable and reliable .

I turned off my Panasonic X700 and has forgotten the code that I had used to turn it on. Could someone kindly advise on how to proceed to regain access to the phone. I had taken it to my 'dealer'who 'reportedly' sent it to Panasonic's HQ, but was informed that nothing can be done about it.

To those having problems connecting the phone to computer - read my last post re XP Firewall.
-------------------------------------------------
To those that have emailed me direct.
The phone is advertised in so many Australian catalogs (junk mail) K-Mark - Big W - Australia Post - Target etc Pre Paid with Optus for $159 -
I chose Turbo charge - Top up with $30 credit and receive $120 credit.
------------------------------------------------
Other Tips:
Mini SD Card - I phoned Panasonic. Max memory card size for this phone is 256mb (call Panasonic to verify before purchasing Mini SD Card)
------------------------------------------------
Themes should stay once APPLIED unless the phone resets.
------------------------------------------------
Yes Symbian OS Phones can get viruses. Trial Symbian Anti Virus Software is available on the net from Trusted companies.
-------------------------------------------------
If you intend to download your emails directly from your mail server make sure you do not have old emails on the server otherwise you will download every email including any SPAM.
Emails headers will stay on your phone even if you have marked all for deletion from the server and deleted them. These should delete the next time you check your emails. Phone should say "updating mailbox".
---------------------------------------------------------
If your phone looks like is has completely swithced off - It may have just gone into hibernation to save battery power.

Well, to connect 2 my Pc I have some options:
by Infrared, Bluetooth, or by data cable or to buy a card reader and use the mini-secure digital. Bluetooth is expensive so I have to chose beetween card reader, infrared or data cable. What would you chose and why?

reply to queensland australia....wow...i'm all the way in barbados west indies, but i may be able to help you with one thing... since i torture my X700...and it works everytime... are ypu using the usb cable that comes with the phone? because if you are, you can be linked to the pc and chrging the phone at the same time, also, if you are using the software that comes with the phone, and windows millenium, 2000 or even higher, you'll get no problems with the usb link, i haven't tried the bluetooth or Irda yet, but eventually i will. Now if someone could help me with this one, HOW IN SAM-HILL DO YOU GET THIS PHONE TO KEEP UPLOADED THEMES ACTIVE AFTER IT GETS TURNED OFF?

Yah, i just got this phone off ebay for like 160 cad. Its great i had the battery issue for like the first day but i used it like crazy. Since then no issues. The OS isn't to slow sometimes it lags but generally i have no issues at all. Also the ogg player is a dream, it plays them loud and clear and i even found some sound editing progs that let me cut my mp3s then extract them ogg. It's too easy, reception is great and speakerphone is decent if you don't have it on full. I'd say a good buy.
Cheers
