I'm thinking of getting the x700 outrite but after reading all the posts am so confused. 50% are against the phone and the other 50% think its fine.
The main use of my phone will be for texting and the occasional taking of photos.
Keys easy to press?
Photo quality good?
I want pritty clear photos and dont want to have to hold my phone completely still to be able to get a half good image.
The phone is $630 outrite, in asutralia, so i'd say thats average price for outrite.
Would the phone suit my needs for texting and taking photos? Or does this phone really suck?

da x700 can take up to 1gb mini sd cards ive got a moby card no problems yet

try to check on the users manual for the default lock code.
usually its 0000 or 00000 or 1234 or 12345.
***BE CAREFUL in entering a lock code because it might further disable the phone after several FAILED ATTEMPTS.
I would suggest you go to your nearest Panasonic shop or send Panasonic an email message for answer on your problem.
Its also helpful to consult the user's guide or manual that came with the package.
Ill try to check for any solution for this too and keep you posted.

Hi,I have a serious problem here.My mum went to key in so many codes for her X700 and somehow she forgotten.Now the gadget prompt her for Lock Code then she can used the phone.What is this? Can any kind souls help me please?

hhaha, Kelvin. i also rade from what u posted last time. u said u "think" also can support 1GB. but i think not yet in the market. n one question. i already upgrade my phone. but when open media photo file take very long time (slow), kelvin, do u face this problem? for DDA, actually this kind of phone ( symbian ) nokia will be better. coz i tried my gf phone (nokia 6630), n my friends phone (nokia 7610). all quite stable. just one problem. the phone design ugly. hahaha.

For X700, do u conform this phone is can support up to 1Gb ? n the 1Gb mini sd card is already come out in the market? because i during use 512mb, and if can i wish i can get the 1Gb!

seriously. this phone just consider "ok" lever. not as good as nokia. i used to off phone at night, n my battery life around three days. meat around 36 hours. this is the wakeness point of the phone also. i rade b4 after u upgrade your phone version your phone can support the memory up to 1G. use MINI SD card. but maybe now u guys just buy will be the latest version. The camera not even 1MP. mp3 sound so so. TO Faye : if your restart automatic i suggest to remove the mp3 or chinese star. coz my phone not face such this problem. izzt b4 u install mp3 or chinese start ever happen auto restart? To wayne : if u wanna change phone i suggest u change to nokia 7610, 6630 or 6680. for sure nokia phone symbian will stable than panasonic. if u r the person who wish to get the phone perfect on camera. video. mp3. battery talk time. pls dont choose panasonic x700 n change your mind to nokia or sonyericsson. i not really choosy on phone. so panasonic is good enough to me. coz i love the design. thanks for everyone. n welcome to ask me any question. regard.

I know that people ask this very often, but please tell me truly about the battery life. Are you sure 36 hour maximum? Isn't that way to short?

I was thinking of getting one of these phones for £150 but now i'm not so sure. From what I have read it's a pretty bad effort from Panasonic. I've had the Nokia 6600 and I loved it.I hoped to move onto the X700 as it was a Symbian Series 60 Smartphone just like the 6600, but most people have been bad mouthing it.
Is the sound quality for music really that bad?
Doesn't it work properly on UK networks?
Is the battery life really short?
The most important things to me would be 3GP movie playback, video recording, Bluetooth, camera function and compatible Symbian software. Will it work with 6600 software?
Any advice would be much appreciated. thanks.

Subject: Restart again?
For those who using this phone, do face this problem where the phone will automatically restart sometimes? i'm not sure what happen on it, i need help.i was thinking that maybe the memory for the phone almost full but after i delete some picture, mp3 it still same..omg..i really have no idea for it..i've install the CNstar, Mp3 player..izit a sources for ths kind of problem?

What battery live do you guys get out of this phone? On pure standby, absolute no touch, without bluetooth or anything, the battery lasts 36 hours. I I have 3 to 5 4 minutes phone calls, it will last 12-18 hours. For me as minimal user it means charging EVERY night. The battery was replaced but that did not make a difference. I think this phone is crap.

This phone sound recording is 10 sec, video record is unlimit. sound quality not good as nokia but acceptable. if u guy really want the best quality sound music y dont u just buy a diskman or mp3.? what u expect the phone can be good as a music player? phone quality not that good but acceptable also. this phone cant compare with other symbian phone. coz a bit slow with running program or openning big size file.if u really want to compate with nokia phone pls see the design n size first. nokia phone so big n ugly, pig phone of coz can put more good quality stuff. but this phone is smaller. what u expect.? if really want go to buy that damn dump big sonyericsson lah. sure u satisfy with the sound quality. that's it..

Hi, before deciding whether to buy this phone or not, I'm just wondering whether you can get a fm radio on this phone as I see it doesn't have one but it there a software to install into the phone for it to have a fm radio? thnx.

Hi guys! I think this forum is not just meant for all positive feedback of this phone. I admit I made a mistake on the video timing of 10sec. After I check up on my phone, yes, it has unlimited timing depends on memory size. But, the sound for MP3/Ogg files really sucks big time. If you guys think listening to songs @ the volume setting of 50% or less , then I have nothing to say. But I think above 50% volume, the speaker sounds rusty especially the bass motion of the songs. Morever, to use this phone to listen to mp3/ogg files, 50% or less for volume is definitely not enough as the sounds are already very soft. Last of all, if you compared the performance of this phone to nokia 7610/6670 in-terms of Smartmovie performance, it shows that this phone's media performance don't live up to the Smartphone expectation. My verdict: Don't buy this phone if you are looking for media capability smartphone in-terms of playing mp3/ogg or avi files by Smartmovie.

ya. this is a symbian phone. can download those application and install it. the video recording is unlimited. cam can up to 4X zoom. 2x and 4x. not a bad phone. the design and appearence is damn nice.. hahaz.
