No copy of nokia n90 at all, as almost everything is different. Yes, it lacks infra red and bluetooth, but do we need that when there is a sd card ? And the price is so much lower than the N90 and other feature rich phones. Philips wants to keep things useful and simple. And hey, suddenly even nokia is now starting wiuth touch screen features ........Philips phones are constituted in China and france while the parts come from all over the world. Just to call it a made in china phone goes too far.

man d600 rocks its far more better than this piece of junk.A friend had one for just a month because the touchscreen broke by a simple drop.(pls excuse my english)

hey frank I just buyed a se w800 and its the best phone of all it has a incredibly good camera and its walkman program is incredible

I am deciding which phone to buy. Philips 968/Samsung-D600/SE w800i/Inno a20. I know they are all different. Any suggestions?
About the Philips 968, is the touchscreen good?
I know it doesnt have Blueetooth. A shame. What about the applications? Does it have speakerphone? Can you play mp3s and movies?
i appreciate your time, I hope someone that knows about this or has the phone could answer, since many people think they know about phones... but are more confused than myself.

Just got one and found out it has NO Bluetooth nor Infrared!!! Can't believe a so flagship phone without any of these!!! With both AND the SD slot inside of the phone instead of the big battary case it will be a nice one.....

i have 2 more questions.... how come i can't play any of the games that comes with the phone? and i cant get into the java manager either.... and my phone's memory capitcity is FREE 0MB, USED 0MB... -.-"

ok, i actually own this phone and it's pretty nice. linux os does not get in the way of pc connection, philips has provided special 968 software. manual can be found on philips hong kong site, i english or chinese. java machine is webshere by ibm. it's ok, most stuff runs on it. anyone have real questions, email me. marc

Can anyone please post me the link to download the Online readable Manual pls since I am unable to find the user manual for this particular Philips model. I dont need Bluetooth or Irda or any of the EDGE gprs feature. I just need to know about this phone since its not yet available here

to the guy who said all philips phones are made in china....
wake up! almost all mobile phones are made in china. even sony ericsson and nokia. don't you see, China is a great place to build stuff and sell it cheaper than other countries cuz of cheaper labor and materials. try opening your phone... even though it's made somewhere else you can still see a couple of components made from China.

You guys are kidding me, right? I don't recall the N90 having touchscreen, including handwriting recognition. Besides that, this phone (although a bit large) has been available for a couple of months already! The video playback and recording features are awesome!

968 is no good !
what's wrong with the media player (Sound) ?
Cant seperate files into folders and playlist is consequently a problem..............poor management.
Does anyone know how to fix it ?

I just bought my 968 here in China.
Problem 1.:I cannot connect it thru USB cable to my computer becouse windows cannot find the driver. Does anybody has this driver or any tip on this matter?
Problem 2.: I cannot store may photos/movies directly on the SD cards, as well as, I cannot transfer the files to it. Any suggestion?

First i confuse with what u guys talking, u guys said that this model of philips twin with N90, in my opionion this tipe of philips is totaly different with nokia N90. you could se from the camera potition, dan keypad. also color ornament , it is very different.
And philips 968 focused it's video reocord capability, the swing concept first time made by samsung. and the os philips using linux and nokia using symbian is totaly diffent.
i have see the 960 with the linux os, it is cool. You could change the themes, including the animation icons and other color and background like using the real desktop linux. and give u a different felling.
for the first use when u change the theme , u like a changing the os :D fully costumize :D...

As I know, Philips 968 is made in Shenzhen. I remain conservative to the QC and production of China. What would the existing users say about this ?
