What the hell are you doing only releasing this in Russia Philips? I'm looking for a good backup phone and this thing is quoted with 50 days battery standby!!!!! Has Wi-fi too and seems to completely pwn the competition.

Release it in the UK and give to GSMArena to review please!

            Hi there,

            as you might know(if you'r a Philips fan),.. from my previous post related to hands on experiences, I come back with the first look at the new X623!
            Previously I owned: 9@9k, X620 and X501. I won't bather a lot on details - specifications(U can find it on the page).
            - looks good, i mean better than previous philips models of it's class;
            - outside view,.. longer and heavier;
            - 5mp snapper, with red eye reduction settings;
            - menu seams a little getting used to, comparing with the previous models that I've had;
            - user memory, without the sd card is small like crazy, 47mb;
            - buttons response, it requires getting used to since the central one is split in 2(circle surrounded by a square); it needs a heavier push to work properly;
            - menu: it has a lot of similarities with S-E phones and its more detailed then on the previous models;
            So far, it's just a new toy! I'll let you know more as I discover ;)!!
            Maybe more interesting for some, is that I've bought it through a friend in Russia: 5999 rubles - straight from the shop; comes with 2 years warranty, I was told!
            I tried to find it on my regular web sites but, apparently so far they don't sell it, so that was the only way to get my hands on it!
            Over all, good job Philips, on this "simple" one, and you fans know what I'm talkin' about!;)
            CU soon!

              Does anyone know where this can be purchased in the United States or have a link to where US dollars can be used? Thanks.

                Philips X623 provides "Smart" phone users with a choice of long battery life. The short battery life of most "Smart" phones are making users not so smart.
                I am buying this phone for its strong battery life...even better than a nokia.

                          Touch screen phones are for kids and posers and for people with too much time to spare. This is the closest any manufacturer has come to satisfying sensible people who want a good quality high spec useful phone without all the gimmicks of touchscreens.
                          Unfortunately, I think this phone is only for the Russian market. Does anyone know if it sells online in Europe?
