Philips Xenium 9@9i is a good quaility mobile phone. However, it appears to be difficult to buy a spare battery, e.g. my phone has battery type A20WBJ/0ZC. Also, any information about the battery substitute or equivalent appears to be unavailable.

I purchased Philips Xenium 9@9i about a year ago. It works well. The standby time is shorter than specified in my location, New York, NY, USA. T-mobile provider accepts this model. It was purchased at www.mkphones.com located in Hong Kong. This store does not offer accessories. The Philips in Honk Kong (852-2619-9663 Telephone, 852-2481-5847 Fax) was contacted for a replacement battery availability, Li-Ion, 1100mAh standard battery manufactured in China (Battery Type A20WBJ/0ZC); however, the battery appears to be unavailable (no responses from Philips). It has English alphabet and two Chinese "alphabets." The sound volume available appears to be on lower side in comparison with some other types of mobile phones on the market. Buttons on a unit side are often starting either the camera or the sound volume adjustment/setting, if the unit is not carefully held. The external quality and appearance of the unit can undoubtedly and easily be noticed. It will probably be surpassed by units based on the 65nm technology in the foreseeable future.

I have had the 9@9i for well over a year and a half. It is by far the best phone I have used in my area. I have used Motorola, Nokia, and even tried an Innostream...Blah!! Only at my home reception is poor. But this phone picks up signal where the others failed. Battery life is phenominal. Talk forever with no worries. Have transferred pics from phone to pc and visa versa. Picture quality is acceptable for a camera phone. My next phone will be a Philips. HEY PHILIPS!!!! SELL THESE IN THE U.S. I bought this from overseas and love it...

I have the phone a few weeks now and not withstanding what one says, i can sms with it very well and fast. BUT you have to use the dictionary inl. the feature to put in new words. It is just a no nonsense phone with a surprising low price with only necessary featryres and eveything just WORKS. And gosh, don't need to become nervous if someone calls me for an hour or more.

I have been using this Philips 9@9i phone 2 months for my work where I use 1-2 hours talk/day and about 10 SMS a day. This are my conclusions:
Battery last me 3-5 days - very good
Call quality also very good
Calculator is fast and easy to use.
Slow startup
Alarm clock has a error and comes back after a few min. and I'm not pressing Snooze !!
SMS - a absolutely horror to work with, can only have 20 SMS in inbox and to delete must open each single one and go into menus or just delete all. You can't mark/select and then delete or copy. Text input is also slow
Address book also bad interface if you want to copy contacts to SIM card.
Generally a slow phone and interface/software far behind major brands in same price level.
I really wanted to give Philips a try but I have to surrender, have to change back to Finish or Japan brand.
But if you are a user which only need it for calling and receive I still recommend it.
