Xiaomi's Poco has announced its entry into the AIoT space in India with the launch of Poco Pods TWS earphones in the Asian country. The Poco Pods are budget wireless earphones that pack a 12mm driver in each bud and have an IPX4 rating.

The Poco Pods have Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, support Google Fast Pair, and are advertised with a latency of up to 60ms. The earphones come with Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) and only support SBC audio codec.

The Poco Pods also support touch controls, allowing users to control their calls and music playback. You can answer the call and play/pause music by tapping the Pods twice, and reject/end a call and skip to the next track by tapping them thrice.

Poco hasn't revealed the battery capacities of the Pods and its charging case, but the company says the Poco Pods can offer up to 30 hours of music playback on a single charge, likely when paired with the charging case, with a 10-minute top-up providing up to 90 minutes of playtime.

If all this sounds familiar, it's because Xiaomi launched the Redmi Buds 4 Active in India last month with similar features for INR1,399 ($17/€15). The Poco Pods, on the other hand, are priced at INR1,199 ($15/€13) and can be purchased from Flipkart in India. They are offered in a single Midnight Groove color.

Huh? You must've missed how Xiaomi no longer puts 3.5mm on their flagships all while spreading out the 3.5mm jack and sd card slot among their midrangers. And it they ever combine those two, it would be on a model with trash chipset.

How come it only supports sbc? LC3 is part of bluetooth 5.3 specification, so it should be included.
