Qualcomm teams up with Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team

Exactly one year ago, Qualcomm signed a partnership with the Ferrari F1 team, but the chip maker's logo was absent from this year's Ferrari car that was unveiled yesterday. Today the explanation came as Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 unveiled its own 2023 car and confirmed Qualcomm is now one of its partners.

The partnership aims to offer unique online and offline experiences. One would hope Qualcomm is cooking some immersive VR or non-VR racing experiences involving the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team.

In addition, the tech company will help the F1 team establish cutting-edge smart space at its UK campus using all of Qualcomm's technologies. Here's what Quacomm's SVP and CMO, Don McGuire, had to say about that.

Snapdragon delivers premium experiences, and our partners are best in class. The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team is the leading tech-forward team in F1, making it the ideal partner of choice for the Snapdragon brand. Together, we are committed to reimagining the fan experience by bringing Snapdragon to fans around the world.

The Qualcomm partnership goes beyond the Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance car. The company's logos will be seen on the drivers' racing suits, clothing of senior personnel and even in Mercedes' garages.

Just business partner not chip provider lol. Like Tesla with Amd. There thousands of little silicon pieces are far away from these computer chips.

Yes, they did before switching to AMD in 2020 until 2022.
