Realme 12 Pro series' launch date announced

Realme set up an event page for the Realme 12 Pro series on its official website last week, suggesting the lineup would launch this month without revealing the date, which we now know is January 29.

The Realme 12 Pro series will be unveiled on January 29 in India at noon local time. Realme hasn't revealed how many smartphones are included in the series, but it likely consists of the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+.

Last week, the brand revealed the design of what's likely the Pro+ model. Realme partnered with luxury watch design master Ollivier Saveo to design the lineup, which will feature a CNC-cut golden fluted bezel, polished sunburst dial, premium vegan leather, and a 3D jubilee bracelet.

Additionally, Realme said the Realme 12 Pro series' primary camera would use the 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor, while the periscope telephoto unit would use the 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor, facilitating up to 120x digital zoom. You can read more about the camera system here.

With the unveiling about two weeks away, you can expect more revelations about the Realme 12 Pro series from Realme.

Qualcomm has a lot to answer for with that chip, as there'll be plenty of midrange phones using it this year. As you said though, Xiaomi hasn't had great battery results lately, even with the MediaTek chips.

Realme will win, but i bet screen and speakers will be worse. But battery may be better, Xiaomi is doing really poor optimization lately. However, the Snapdragon 7s is really inefficient, so i guess both will have mediocre battery life.
