Try all 3 phones and just pick the one you like.
Stock Android fans will tell you to get the MiA2 and forget the rest.
More premium fans will tell you to get the Mi8 Lite for better build quality, and the MIUI.
Budget oriented people will tell you to pick Realme 2 Pro.

I bet this Realme doesn't do any software development and also no hardware development.
They just pick an equivalent OPPO model (OPPO K1 in this case) and then cut cost the hardware to make the price very low, this save their development cost and can price the phone even lower. That is not to say they dishonor themself as a brand, but they rather just lower down the cost and borrow everything from their parent company.
This follows Huawei to have the lower priced Honor brand, and Xiaomi to have a Pocophone subbrand.

Mi 8 lite won this Realme 2 Pro.Because Mi 8 lite got Type-C plus Li-po battery plus Quick charge 3.0.And body material good than Realme,and Mi 8 lite got full version SD 660 out of the box.Plus Mi 8 lite could be get upgrade OS n skin on future.He he,be smart...

For you non-software guy, it means easy because it is not implement by you. You expect it is easy because it is said to be free, but in reality it is not.
Android still has long way to go to work like Windows which already matured for nearly 30 years and they can almost work on any hardware regardless of brand, but still not work 100%, but they at least can separate install all driver online as their database is huge.
If it is just as easy as installing Windows, Google would already release the installer to the public and it doesn't need any manufacturer involvement at all. There will be many people jumping to the stock Android and would just buy any bare bone hardware that is even much cheaper.
The reality is all hardware are still very customized and it is not fully compatible.
It will happen one day, but it is not happening now.
Save for this Realme 2 Pro, it won't going to happen.
If you don't like it, then just pick the closest stock Android alternative, the Xiaomi MiA2 with Android One.

I've said that the device should have been released with Stock Android and NOT with Android One License. Both are different. Android One is a complex phenomenon which is agreed upon by mobile manufacturers with Google. Manufacturers have to go through lot of constraints to enter into Android One licencing agreement. But simple Stock Android is free for all and easy to implement. I'm talking about Simple Stock Android and NOT about Android One. To name a few Stock Android devices for your enlightenment; Motorola G6, G6 Plus, E5, E5 Plus, Asus Max Pro M1, etc.

If this phone is being released with Android One, it's price won't be this low.
Even big brand such as Samsung and Huawei didn't release any stock Android and Android One device either, and people still buying their phone.
It is down to personal choices and Android One is not the mandatory for Android smartphone.

More importantly need not be an Android One device with no updates since, as you've told every update has its own illness. This holistic expectation requires no hi-fi approach either. Saw many peoole complain here and there.
This is a phone that compete at budget segment that is dominated by Xiaomi, where the phone eventhough have high specs, but is extremely low priced, so it is expected to have cut corners here and there.
At least this one doesn't cut corner until no Micro SD and no 3.5mm headphone jack, all remain there.
At this price, it is already a very good bargain and any other phones you try to compare to this phone, please make sure all of them have the similar specs first before simply just attack on it's Color OS, and must also comparable in pricing, don't compare phone with 50% or 100% more expensive.
I wouldn't expect this phone at this price has fast Android updates, even Android One device from Xiaomi such as MiA1 didn't get the desired update as well, and each update also introduce new bugs.
At this price, I would only expected a lag free experience with decent enough hardware for camera and processor that also decent enough for gaming, battery can at least last for one day then would be satisfying.
As always, controversy appear on such low price device where most people complain on those cut corners, and people easily forget why they pick this phone when they can't afford for higher priced phone.
I only see the closest competitor at this price is just the Xiaomi Mi A2, which is Android One device.
You either choose the more feature packed Realme 2 Pro or the less feature but Android One device that overall still update faster, but poorer battery life. There is also the more expensive Mi8 Lite in comparison. At some region, you might also can pick Honor Play at very close pricing.
It is never end comparison where if I can afford Realme 2 Pro, MiA2, I would spend a little extra for Honor Play that is more better speced, or spend the little extra on top of Honor Play to get Xiaomi Pocophone F1.
