Yordan, 23 April 2021

The Realme 8 Pro smartphone was unveiled a month ago in two colors - Black or Blue - and the brand promised a third option called Illuminating Yellow to come “soon”. The wait is finally over and the new color is finally hitting India on April 26.

The new color is not just another paint job, it is an entirely new concept with some elements that glow in the dark. That’s right, the rim around the camera island and the “Dare To Leap” logo are coated with a fluorescent material that glows in the dark.

Aside from that, the phone is impressive on the inside as well. It is the first Realme with a 108MP camera and packs a 6.4” Super AMOLED at the front. The phone also comes with 50W fast charging for the 4,500 mAh battery.

The Illuminating Yellow option will keep the same price as the Infinite Blue and Infinite Black phones - INR17,999 ($240/€200) for the 6/128 GB memory choice or INR19,999 ($265/€220) for the 8/128 GB phone.

The sale is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM IST (that’s noon) and will take place at Realme’s own website, Flipkart, and other mainline channels.

I totally don't understand the logic behind this branding. It's just self-aggrandizing really. It's not going to spread the word or promote the brand. Most people who really like the phone will get a case to cover it up. The illuminati...
