Realme C55 review

The Realme C55 is available in India and Europe at the time of writing. Its base 4/64 model is priced at around INR 11,000 in India (same for Narzo N55), and about €200 in Europe. While the EU price is average for the class, the price in India is quite tempting.

The Realme C55 is also available as Realme Narzo N55 in India, with slightly different color options and without NFC support.

Realme C55 review

The Tecno Spark 10 Pro is the same smartphone as the Realme C55 but with a glass back and a higher-resolution selfie camera. It's available mostly in Africa and Asia, but also in selected South American and European markets, so it is worth considering if you live there. And the best thing about the Spark 10 Pro is that its 256GB model costs as much as the 64GB/128GB Realme C55.

The Realme 10 is slightly more expensive at about INR 15,000 and €280, but it will upgrade your viewing experience with an AMOLED screen.

The Galaxy A24 premiered recently and it will cost about €200. While it is as powerful as the Realme C55, the A24 has a 90Hz Super AMOLED screen, a 50MP OIS primary, an additional 5MP ultrawide shooter, and a 13MP selfie cam. Samsung is known for its timely software support, too, so we'd say the Galaxy A24 makes more sense if it is priced closely to the Realme C55 in your market.

The Redmi Note 12 4G is a bit faster smartphone with an AMOLED screen, more cameras and splash resistance. It costs €200 in Europe, so it should be a better choice over the Realme C55 across the old continent.

Finally, the Moto G53 will give you access to 5G networks, splash resistance and it should be faster because of its 720p 120Hz LCD screen. Its clean Android 13 is something to consider, too. The phone costs about €200 in Europe, and you should check it out if you don't mind the lower display resolution.

Our verdict

The Realme C55 is a good smartphone with a no-nonsense design, a fast and large 90Hz LCD screen and satisfying performance for this entry-level class. The camera performance after the update turned out quite good, too. Finally, the long battery life and the fast charging are nice treats, too.

Realme C55 review

It sure is not the perfect phone - there is no splash resistance, the speaker is quiet, there is no video stabilization, and the sound in the videos is awful. Furthermore, there are faster phones at the same price in some markets.

It seems the Realme C55 is one of the best phones in India at that price, but there are better offers in the other markets it sells.

Pros

  • Eye-catchy design.
  • Excellent battery life, fast charging.
  • Good photo and video quality.
  • 3.5mm audio jack, standalone microSD, NFC.

Cons

  • Performance is not at a great level.
  • Speaker is below average in loudness and quality.
  • Bad audio when capturing videos.

GSM Arena. I never met a phone I liked. Is there one phone out there that in their opinion is okay at any price? They have built this platform and really in my opinion the reviews are, shall I say, not that helpful. Every phone has so many flaws ...
