I was hoping for a bit more than 5G's

A nice budget flagship, the screen specs especially look amazing and can't wait to try the 150 degree ultrawide cam 😍 I hope they release a Master Edition like they did with the GT 5G... but with the same processor please!

Sliver121, 13 Jan 2022Seeing quite a few people compare this device with Xiaomi&#... moreJust to be fair, while I kinda agree with few of your points, the other points are just contradictory. For example, you praised about the microscopic camera to be more fun while in reality, zoom lens are more useful than macro lens because it's more helpful for most people to see something so far away, like reading billboard signs in distance or peeping your girlfriend's apartment in distance (nice), rather than to see something so tiny. Curved screen vs flat screen, it's just preference. LTPO 2.0 1B color display, casual users won't care about that. Screen brightness is much more important for most people.

In conclusion, it's all just about preference. And for all people in this community, don't be a shill.

Seeing quite a few people compare this device with Xiaomi's flagships, I have to say that this is an overall good phone from Realme. It doesn't have any of the extra gimmicks that come with Xiaomi's flagships that just adds unnecessarily to the price. I don't know anyone who regularly uses their Mi phone's IR blaster with household appliances, Harman Kardon speakers are just a tiny bit louder than Dolby Atmos, MIUI is universally hated and 120w charging is far too high to be safe. Even Samsung, Google and Apple offer only up to 25w charging in their flagships which is absolutely more than enough, while there's frequent news of Xiaomi phones exploding. GT 2 Pro supports 65w which is a good sweetspot in wired charging, and it even comes with the charger in-box! Majority of people in India don't even use wireless charging so the lack of it in this phone isn't a deal-breaker for me. While the Xiaomi 12 Pro does offer a 50 mp telephoto lens with 100x zoom, be really honest, will you really use that for anything or are these just numbers? When taking photos with our phones, we rarely zoom in when it's landscape pictures or photos of people. GT 2 Pro comes with better-than-decent cameras that snap really good pictures, 150° ultrawide with fisheye mode will capture fun photos and the microscope lens can take fun ultra-detailed shots at the macro level. RealmeUI (or ColorOS rather) is one of the better skinned UIs out there because of how close it is to stock Android. Even though it comes with a few bloatware apps (that can easily be uninstalled), the software itself is extremely smooth and lag-free. I've used it in other Realme phones and the Oppo Reno series, and it's a really good UI that pairs well with on-board hardware. Curved screens might offer a premium look, but flat screens like the one on GT 2 Pro are much more comfortable, resistant to damage, doesn't distort the image, doesn't have edge glare and doesn't look awful with screen protectors on. This is why Apple never switched to curved screens and probably never will, they know it's a bad ergonomic design. GT 2 Pro's 2nd Gen LTPO 2K AMOLED with 10-bit 1.07B colors, 100% P3 color gamut and 525 PPI super retina resolution is an amazing display and perfect for all forms of media consumption. This phone will come with an affordable flagship price so that's an added bonus. It also has nice haptics, a unique paper-inspired design without making it too flashy and a great screen-to-body ratio. Realme did a great job with this phone - they knew exactly what they needed to add to make this a durable top-tier flagship without making it pocket-bleeding expensive. Compare Realme phones with Xiaomi and you'll see that Mi phones just come with a few extra "braggy" features that only matter in the first week after buying their phones. They cease to be important after that and become ordinary phones. No one's going to care when you brag about 50 MP telephoto lens or 120w charging, they'll just ask you to click a normal photos and charge your phone. Realme is following in the footsteps of top global brands like Google, Apple and Samsung. The GT2 Pro has just the right features that matter and that's what turns a solid phone into a good investment.

Anonymous, 12 Jan 2022900 USD, what a joke Relax, that won't be the actual price when the phone launches globally. It's only the geekbench price and they charge quite a lot extra for shipping. This phone won't even launch in the US, only in Europe and Asia

From the reviews I've seen realme ui is still not stable on this device, is it just because the soc is still new or is oppo starting a new old trend of reserving the more polished software to the Find series and Oneplus flagships is left to be seen.
