This year I am forced to upgrade my Sony XZ2 which has stopped at Android 10 but it's hard to see one ok phone with prices that won't cost a leg or both.

I am really surprised by the price, a full flagship price and that in China. When it will come to Europe, it will be at least 200 Euros extra, so at the level of Samsung S series, Iphone, etc, all those fancy flagships. Maybe it's a marketing strategy by Realme but if the prices are real then I do not see this phone having much success. It's a phone I would buy with no problems but at a maximum of 700 Euros for the top specs.

Anonymous, 05 Jan 2022Realme uses the same software skin as oppo and oppo's ... moreI'm sorry but you're wrong, miui is total crap, at sub 300$ it's ok, you can live with it, even though there are cheap phones with weaker hardware and better software, I'm writing from a Xiaomi right now and coming from a Huawei the bugs here are just stupid, my current 5 months old with 5000mAh battery has exactly the same battery life as my 3 year old huawei 4000mAh battery, and during those 3 years I rarely faced some bugs here and there there but nothing compared to this fiasco of miui, noting that both phones came for the same price.

Even if Poco is subbrand, majority of developers are still Xiaomi. She has no problems at all. Camera bit lacking but still ok to make photos for social media.
Next seems to be 12 Pro or this Realme for me.

The GT 2 Pro somehow seems to follow the steps of brother One Plus so far. High quality built, with some cuts from where it isn't felt too much, IP grading maybe a little, and the best price for the package by far....and they added a charger in the box, that is grand for the high tier phones today. Something for sure to be taken into account this year is this phone, who knows, if they will have success this year, in the next it will come with that IP grade and all other useless gimmicks from the top flagships, price included but this year seem a very good deal. I hope to test it quite soon in Europe.
