I have unlocked my GT5 pro just need to go on the China site (free to unlock) and talk to them in online chat. However you will need to have a proper invoice from a China company. (I bought mine in store in China)

I solved just yesterday this nightmare, by paying 75 USD for unlocking the phone for all regions! Very, very unpleasant situation!

This is awesome the Best camera that I have used ever and speed as well. But there is one big problem it get locked after a week says region lock..you can't make or receive phone calls but one thing you can do it that you can still use internet, suffering, social all the things , but can't make or receive calls

After the OTA update on February 6, I lost the region assignment for (EU)/Romania and (cause I bought the Phone from a Chinese person, not by official channels and I hadn't an invoice) and EU competency Center refused to help me unlocking the phone for all regions and they sent me to CN competency center, who did not respond to my notification!
Very embarrassing situation!

I have the GT5 pro and like the phone, but it was a bit of work to get rid of Chinese apps and to cripple the Chinese stuff. Still after I have installed Google Play, the ROM forces some updates to open the "Chinese Market" instead of Google Play. etc
Honestly I would rather get the Oneplus 12 and pay some more for a proper OxygenOS without any of the China crap.
The GT5 pro is a good snappy phone for my needs. I did not change Locale language to Norwegian, but run the phone with Gboard in my own language and the menus in English.
