Extremely slow eMMC memory chips along with horrible reliability and durability. You would need to spend big money to get an actually good SD Card in terms of durability, only for it to still suffer from the incredibly slow data transfer rates of the eMMC standard.
And since you'd be spending that much money in the first place, you'd have two options that are both infinitely better than the archaic SD Cards :
1. Get a variant with larger internal storage. Phones now come with a base storage of 256GB and go all the way up to 1TB, there's no excuse anymore of internal storage options being too limited. You also benefit from the much faster UFS standard, especially UFS 3.0 onwards.
2. Get a portable SSD. It's a much better way to store data externally on a reliable medium that can also be easily used with other devices other than your phone like PCs and laptops without needing specific and rare models that have the SD Card slot or needing adpataters and all that wack stuff. It's insanely faster, so much more reliable and infinitely easier to use and store without risk of losing it.
