Realme GT Neo2 confirmed to launch in India next month

Sagar, 25 September 2021

Realme announced the GT Neo2 a few days ago in China and said it would launch the smartphone globally without providing a timeframe. Later, on Twitter, Mr. Madhav Sheth - VP of Realme and CEO of Realme India, Europe, and Latin America - confirmed that the GT Neo2 will come to India, and now Mr. Sheth tells us that the GT Neo2 will launch in the company's biggest market in October.

The Realme GT Neo2 is a successor to the GT Neo, introduced in India in May as the X7 Max 5G. But it won't arrive in India as an X series smartphone since the X lineup is replaced by the GT series. "GT is the new X," Mr. Sheth said last month.

The GT Neo2 is built around a 6.62" FullHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen and has a Snapdragon 870 SoC at the helm. The smartphone boots Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 and has three memory options - 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB. Although it's unclear if the GT Neo2 will be available in all of these configurations in India or Realme will skip any tiers.

The Snapdragon 870-powered smartphone has a 16MP selfie camera inside the punch hole, with the camera system on the rear consisting of a 64MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro units.

The GT Neo2 also features an in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also supports 5G networks and has an NFC chip on board.

Fueling the entire package is a 5,000 mAh battery, charged through a USB-C port at up to 65W.

I miss the old Nokia, Moto, Lenovo, Asus & HTC days when they were the good options in mid-range and even higher-end phones.

It's true to be honest. Indians need to check/analyse what harm they are doing for themselves by purchasing these kinds of products. Still people are not bothered about the recent Lithuania findings regarding censorship of Chinese phones.
