Realme P3 Ultra review

GSMArena Team, 22 September 2025.

Display

The Realme P3 Ultra features a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with 2,800 x 1,272 pixels. It supports 10-bit color depth, 120Hz refresh rate and is protected with a Gorilla Glass 7i sheet.

Realme P3 Ultra review

Realme advertises 600 nits of typical, 1,200 nits of maximum, and 1,500 nits of peak brightness.

We measured 583 nits of maximum manual brightness. There is an Extra Brightness toggle, which allows the screen to be much brighter - up to 993 nits. Finally, the maximum brightness we captured in the Automatic mode was 1,862 nits, which makes it the phone with the brightest screen in the segment.

The minimum brightness on a white screen was 2.1 nits, which is very good. A useful feature is the 'Lowest allowed brightness' slider, which lets you set the threshold for the Auto brightness mode.

The display supports up to 120Hz refresh rate, and there are two refresh modes - Automatic, High, and Standard (fixed 60Hz).

The Automatic refresh rate works as expected - it drops down to 60Hz when the screen shows static content. All streaming apps are capped at 90Hz or 60Hz for both UI and streaming. And, of course, incompatible HFR apps such as the Camera app and Google Maps are always rendered at 60fps.

Adaptiveness is available for the dedicated High mode as well, but a few more apps could go up to 120Hz or 90Hz as opposed to the default mode.

The screen is not advertised as HDR-capable, but there was a mention for HDR picture support. Hardware scanning apps recognize the display as HDR10 and HDR10+ capable. YouTube does stream HDR content hassle free, even in a floating window (this is part of the HDR picture feature where only an area of the screen shows HDR).

Netflix, however, would only stream non-HDR content.

Battery life

The Realme P3 Ultra boasts a Si/C battery with 6,000mAh capacity. And in oir battery of tests, it scored an impressive Active use rating of 16:47h. This is thanks to strong web browsing and good call time results. The video streaming was also impressive, lasting nearly 20 hours, as well as the gaming times of 9:29 hours.

Charging speed

The Realme P3 Ultra supports the company's proprietary 80W SUPERVOOC charging.

Realme P3 Ultra review

We used the bundled 80W SuperVOOC charger for our charging test. The Realme P3 Ultra went from 0% to 36% in 15 mins, and up to 65% in 30 mins. The charge completed in 51 mins, which is a solid result for a 6,000mAh battery but there are faster phones out there.

There are various battery preservation options. Smart Charging is one of those, where the phone learns your habits and refills the last 20% of the battery close to, say, your wakeup time. Then there is Charging Limit - the battery is kept at 80% charge for lower cycle count and prolonged lifespan.

There are also a couple of power-saving battery modes, as well as GT mode for maximum performance.

The phone only offers wired charging with no wireless charging support. However, you do get bypass charging (within the Game Booster), so you can run the phone directly off the charger while playing a game without charging the battery, which reduces the heat buildup.

Speakers

The Realme P3 Ultra has a hybrid stereo speaker arrangement where the earpiece acts as a speaker.

Realme P3 Ultra review

The speakers scored a Good mark on our loudness test. The audio quality is alright with good vocals and well-presented high frequencies, but almost no bass. The sound is a bit shallow.

Use the Playback controls to listen to the phone sample recordings (best use headphones). We measure the average loudness of the speakers in LUFS. A lower absolute value means a louder sound. A look at the frequency response chart will tell you how far off the ideal "0db" flat line is the reproduction of the bass, treble, and mid frequencies. You can add more phones to compare how they differ. The scores and ratings are not comparable with our older loudspeaker test. Learn more about how we test here.

If you add a sim card slot to it then yes, it's basically a smartphone running a custom ROM.
