Realme phones are getting custom ColorOS branch, v7.0 will be close to stock Android

The latest episode of AskMadhav was an exciting one – especially for fans of stock Android and ultra wide-angle video. Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth answered questions from fans concerning software, hardware, release dates and prices.

The major takeaway from this Q&A session is that Realme phones will jump straight to Color OS 7.0, there will not be a v6.0.1. There are no plans to move away from Color OS, but instead an exclusive branch will be developed for Realme phones.

According to Madhav, Color OS 7.0 will be much closer to stock. You can see this question at 3:30.

Another important question was about video recording with the ultra wide camera. All quad camera Realme phones will gain support for this, including the Realme 5, 5 Pro and XT.

Fans were also interested in when the Realme X2 Pro will become available in India, the answer is mid-November. Madhav teased a fitness accessory coming soon (a smart band, perhaps?). As for a VOOC power bank, he says “why not” if there’s demand for it.

Watch the video as it covers more topics - Realme 3i vs. Redmi 8, online vs. offline prices, offline availability of the XT, Camera 2 API for the Realme C1 and 2 and more.

All Chinese smartphones are the same, and they even look the same. The only one that stands out a little bit is OnePlus smartphones because of important features like OIS and, of course, OxygenOS.

I'll believe it when I see it lol. Even then, I doubt it'll look very stock-ish.

What's the point? No bloatware, no spyware, clean minimal look as opposed to IOS wannabe look, faster, better animations and whatnot? It's still way better even if it gets updates at slower pace
