Realme X won't arrive in India before the second half of the year

Vlad, 28 May 2019

If you're in India and anxiously anticipating the launch of the new Realme X in the subcontinent, here's some bad news: you still have some waiting to do. Earlier this month Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth revealed that the Realme X would be headed over there "soon", but now both he and the official Realme India support account on Twitter have elaborated further and it's not great.

It turns out "soon" actually means "sometime in the second half of this year". No matter how optimistic you choose to be in interpreting that, it's clear that the phone will not arrive in the subcontinent this month or in June. Best case scenario: it lands in July. Then again, December is also part of the second half of the year, so who knows how long it will actually be.

This is undoubtedly sad news for fans of the young Oppo-spinoff brand, and its highest-end smartphone yet. The Realme X has a 6.53" 1080p+ AMOLED touchscreen with no notch and an under-display fingerprint sensor, the Snapdragon 710 chipset at the helm, 4/6/8GB of RAM, 64/128GB of storage, a 48 MP main rear cam and a 5 MP depth sensor, and a 16 MP pop-up selfie camera. The lights are kept on by a 3,765 mAh battery with support for 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging. It runs Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6 on top. While you wait for it to reach India, why not read our in-depth Realme X review?

and what about mi max 4 launch in India

Right. Mi/Redmi & Asus will release more mid range options shortly. Plus there would be discounts on previous years phones if Realme delays the launch further.

by the time it release in india people already have better options. bad strategy
