Redmi Go launching in India on March 19

Sagar, 15 March 2019

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi announced its first Android Go smartphone - the Redmi Go - back in late January. The smartphone is already available in a couple of markets, and the next market it will debut in is India.

The Redmi Go will be launched in India on March 19. The company has set up an event page on its website with a countdown to the launch. The page reveals that this smartphone will come with 20+ regional languages, dedicated expandable storage, and Google Assistant in Hindi.

The Redmi Go is powered by Snapdragon 425 which is paired with 1 GB RAM. It runs Android Oreo (Go Edition) and has 8 GB of onboard storage. The smartphone sports a 5-inch HD LCD on the front along with an 8 MP camera at the back. It has a 3,000 mAh battery which is decent enough considering its display size and resolution.

We expect the Redmi Go to be priced around INR 5,000 ($72/€64) in India.
