Redmi K20 arrives on May 28 with a 48 MP camera
Leaks and rumors about the Redmi K20 have been pouring in lately, but there’s a light at the end of the speculation tunnel. The phone will be launched officially on May 28, the brand confirmed on Weibo. According to a post from yesterday, it will have a 48 MP camera, later confirmed to have Sony IMX586 sensor by the Xiaomi founder Lei Jun.

Coming with a Snapdragon 855 chipset and a flagship camera is one way for Redmi to jump into the world of flagships. It already claimed to be the next “flagship killer” with an outstanding AnTuTu performance, AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass 6 on top and an UD fingerprint scanner under the panel.
The Redmi K20 series might actually have two phones in the portfolio - a regular variant and a K20 Pro that will sport even fancier features, including the 27W fast-charging for the 4,000 mAh battery, an ultra-wide secondary snapper and a pop-up selfie shooter with a 20 MP sensor. We will know if these are true next Tuesday unless Redmi executives decide to tease more specs earlier.
