Report: Apple to split iPhone unveil in two phases - fall and spring

Ivan, 17 November 2025

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple will split the iPhone 18 series in two groups - the Pros will come in the fall of 2026, while the vanilla will arrive in the spring of 2027. This way, Apple will reduce its dependence on making its fall event a huge spectacle.

So next year, Apple will likely announce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, the long-awaited iPhone Fold, and possibly new smartwatches and Macs, in the fall.

Then, in the spring of 2027, Apple will announce the base model iPhone 18, a possible successor to the iPhone 16e (iPhone 18e), and a potential successor to the iPhone Air.

This two-pronged approach is inherently more flexible and will ease Apple's operational strain.

Regarding the iPhone Air, Apple is reportedly using the low-volume device as a hardware testing platform for the foldable iPhone, which is expected to have a similar build.

Earlier reports suggest that the iPhone Air won't get a second camera lens due to Apple's belief that an ultrawide unit isn't highly sought after.

Ironic, since Samsung copies much from Apple too. Stop being tribalistic and buy whatever serves your daily needs.

Dear Apple phone designers. Please add Back panel LTPO Oled secondary screen and pop up 360° view camera on top. Also, drop the price half. Thanks

When they don't have any ideas of their own, they just copy their competitor, almost like it was a for-profit enterprise. Or to put it another way, Apple copies Samsung...again!
