vivo V40 Pro review
Introduction and specs
It's time for the vivo's V series' bi-annual upgrade and we expected modest improvements over the V30 Pro. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. The V40 Pro signals a full generational upgrade with new looks, better hardware and more features.
Even though the display stays the same, which is perfectly fine given that the V30 Pro's screen was bright and fully tricked out, the V40 Pro brings a notable upgrade in the chipset department; a bigger battery, a higher IP68/IP69 rating against water and dust and fixes V30 Pro's biggest shortcoming - hoorey for the stereo speakers.
The V40 Pro is now rocking a set of stereo speakers and retains the rather capable camera setup. The handset relies on three 50MP cameras on the back and a 50MP unit on the front, which has autofocus too.

The chipset is a nice upgrade because the Dimensity 8200 which is found inside the V30 Pro has been used since the V27 Pro. Now the device runs on the Dimensity 9200+ SoC, which is a no trivial upgrade.
All that hardware draws power from a 5,500 mAh battery, upgraded from a 5,000 mAh unit, and supporting the same 80W fast charging solution.
It all comes together in the new model with a reasonable price hike, so many are probably wondering whether the V30 Pro is the smarter choice or if are there any other suitable alternatives on the Indian market. We try to answer these questions in the review.
Unboxing the vivo V40 Pro
The V40 Pro comes in a standard retail box with the usual user manuals, a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging and data transfer and a bulky 80W proprietary charger. That last one shouldn't be taken for granted these days especially seeing how our vivo V40 review unit didn't come with one.
There's also a transparent silicone protective case in there.

liking custom ROMs is fine but to hate on Dimensity like it's trash/doesn't matter? Now that's a stupid move.
