HTC One Max vs. Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Heavy hitters

28 October 2013
The Samsung Galaxy Note may have started the phablet craze, but history won’t count for much when the Note 3 faces the HTC One Max. The Max takes the lauded HTC One design and build and trumps the Note 3 in terms of screen size...

Awesome review as always by gsmarena. IMO the battery test should be a tie, considering we have a removable battery on the note 3.

I don't like bad-mouthing other companies product cos I like samsung but the silly trolls on here leaves one with no choice, even a blind man can see that note 3 is ahead of the Htc One max, even they (htc) did not intend for it to be a specs beast with the S600 and other lower specs.

The ugly, heavy, cheap tin-can brick in no way as beautiful and classy as Note 3.
      The rest, you know.

Doesn't matter which way you look at it... the Note 3 is ahead by a reasonable margin.

Commentator, 28 Oct 2013Xperia Z Ultra should have had a 5.5''-5.8'' display, which... moreI wouldn't have called a 5.8" Z Ultra a Note 3 killer but it would have been a lot closer.

The mcmassive bezels and very poor battery life really kill what could be a great device.

I pick up one max for my reasons that i need:
            -premium feel and bigger screen
-sound quality is very important for me when in going for phanlet
-i think sense 5.5 is very interesting in 5.9 screen also i respect to note3 software that book its name as a best phablet software but i don't like tochwiz in s4.
-i don't trust to one max before iv seen the best battery scores..excellent battery..i wonder for this great optomizer system by htc..

i think both of greatest phablet since now and both will be good choice.

Xperia Z Ultra should have had a 5.5''-5.8'' display, which is more apt for a phablet. 6.44" is just too big and the large bezels make it look like a friggin' tablet.

With that 5.5"-5.8" display and a better camera with flash would have made it Note 3 killer.

"The phablet (note 3) will lock if the watch (gear) on your wrist is too far away"
                  Now that's impressive, very impressive.

Now seriously, since when S600 become slow and obsolete?
If could run Touchwiz on SGS4 without lag, than sense on X should be butter smooth.Only the camera will be let down for some people, but i personally couldn't care less about it.

I noticed that gsm arena mentioned that the note 3's screen brightness is only 379 nits. But actually it's 660 nits in autobrightness mode according to the display mates display review. 379 nits is the maximum brightness for manual brightness adjusting.

AnonD-73274, 28 Oct 2013i agree but even then they should just post a winner i ... moreSure, but what works for me,doesn't mean that it will work for you.For example:i appreciate good sound, watch a lot of videos, browsing, appreciate the all metal body and good battery. So by these(mine) criteria s,One X is better than Note3.
Would you agree with me on these? Most probably not.
You may better want a pen input, better camera and vidoes etc etc....

If you read the conclusion carefully you'll see that they picked a winner - it's just that depending on your usage it may not apply to you, so there's little point in shoving it down your throat.
