Guess what! my current tab 7.7 which was the first super amoled screen tab stopped working after screen broke mysteriously this morning - no proof but looks like new maid dropped it or put hot food container thinking to be table mat in its thin brownish cover. Two & half years used it without any issue. Bought it for SGD888
Right time to buy this S8.4 as replacement, it is cheaper (SGD698) and much better then 7.7. Only thing I would miss is the metallic frame of 7.7.

I don't understand what's the point in having a a tablet with 6,6 mm thickness and a battery of only 4950 mAh.
Galaxy tab 7.7 had a battery of 5100 mAh and Lenovo Yoga 8 has a battery of 6000 mAh.
I would preffer a higher thickness and a better battery.

Hope Samsung can also make a windows 8.1 version. Had a play around with an 8" one that has a pen and was really cool. Would love to see a manufacturer like Samsung jump on board. Android and IPAD don't stand a chance with these newer power friendly tablets coming out lately that also include full windows.

When is it coming out? Cant wait for it to land in South Africa. I hope Samsung will bring it in the Country unlike the Galaxy Tab Pro.

Can you confirm the subpixel matrixes for each? Anandtech says RGB stripes for the 10.5 and diamond Pentile for the 8.4.
