06 August 2014
The HTC Desire 616 dual sim seems specifically designed for Asian markets – it's affordable but with a large screen, an impressive sounding chipset and that all important dual-SIM connectivity. However...

Bought the phone last week for $240, now i wish i had not.
    Incall sound is OK!
Pathetic sound quality with head phones.
Feels cheap in terms of build quality.
Screen lacks the feel of the reported 294 ppi.

Another HTC failphone - TFT LCD display (lol), glossy plastic, poor audio and meh battery life.

their decision to use the removable battery is nice, considering the fact that many current HTC phones have bad built-in non-removable batteries.
but unfortunately, this phone still hasn't support native video call via 3G network.
so i guess that it won't be well accepted in Asia.

Making a big 5-incher with an octa-core processor is not enough to persuade even a child. And i cant stand this awful and cheap combination of stock android and sense or the fact that it runs 4.2 out of the box, which will never be updated.

GSM Arena I agree that HTC was too cautious & it has many downsides even for an entry level smartphone but the last one ! Most Sense features are replaced by sttock android! I found it was more of good side rather than a bad side!I won't say ur wrong Don't mind me! BUt just give it a thought!I just wrote it coz I found it funny nd I hate HTC NONSENE UI! Don't SUE 4 this!:p

Seems to be a terrible phone. Very bad audio quality too.

Once again HTC made the worst low end phone, the horrors of these phones cannot be understated, software is terrible and no updates will be given, this is what HTC has always done on the low end and they are famous for it. Many people believe HTC Wildfire to be the worst phone of all times and 616 seems to be in the same place.
