Thanks, gsmarena. This is the first unbiased review that I read about the iPhone. Of course, it is a great device, and its OS and ecosystem are outstanding. But it's getting more difficult every year to justify the price their consumers have to pay. I have a LG G3... A great device too. I don't want to talk about specs, OS and all this stuff, usually useless and subjective. But it could buy it for 360€, unlocked. Easily, the iPhone is about twice this price. In my opinion, not a big deal.

My Lumia 1520 will live on..
Went to see Apple 6 and 6+ and realized that look and feel is very underwhelming. Apple clearly has lost it's direction and charm post Steve jobs era.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2014but Iphone 6 kick Z3C in the ass for the
GFX benchmark.
... moreYup, but for less than iphone costs you can buy ps4 console...
Or a z3c + ps3 console (which has better graphics than iphone6)
With z3c you play streaming ps4 games, or android ones with ps4 controller and on any tv that has miracast (or 35 bucks adapter for any tv that doesnt have it)
Hope you get the point ;-)

Apple's biggest advantage is their greatest weakness - their closed ecosystem. Because Apple builds both their hardware and software they are in total control over their product. This advantage is clearly seen in the benchmark results, where the OS and hardware combination outscores all other phones. But, herein lies the trap Apple has stepped into. You can not advance as fast in a closed off ecosystem as an open one.
The problem with the benchmarks is that you are comparing apples with pears (pun intended). Because the processors used in the iPhone is guarded by Apple, a true comparison with its opposition is not really possible. If Android or Windows OS could be run on on the same processors found in the iPhone, claims of superiority could be made.
The Apple vs. Android argument is as idiotic as the Console vs. PC gaming argument. Games are primarily made for consoles as they are black box devices and their hardware stays unchanged through the console's lifespan. Whereas PC's are in constant development with the main component suppliers in constant war, driving innovation and increasing power. Thus, the two are not comparable.
The Apple environment is is like consoles - closed off, stagnant and controlled. This makes it easier to control the software being delivered to the device leading to high stability and ease of development.
Google's Android is open. Thus more like the PC environment. Companies are forced to compete against each other pushing the envelope and letting creativity grow. Yes, this system leads to less security and more junk on the Play Store, but it stimulates technological advancement and healthy competition. In the end the end user benefits.
I prefer a PC over consoles, therefore an Android phone. Have not yet made up my mind on my next handset, but the Z3 Compact and LG G3 are top contenders.
The iPhone 6 is just priced silly. Not even worth the look. If it made coffee in the morning and drove me to work I would have considered it at that price!

PowerVR GX6650, 27 Sep 2014At last Ip6 PowerVR GX6450 killed both Galpha and Z3C in ... moreWhile it beat by marginal 10% in gpu . The battery life is half . Not to mention 8 hour talk time . I think 10% gpu is acceptable more than half of battery life .
