Tim, 27 Sep 2014What was the in call quality like - not the usual tinny App... moreYou are a product of marketing techniques instilling fear in you. My Android device is as safe as your Blackberry or Apple or Windows. Here are the steps that convinced you in this respect:
1. You are important.
2. So... your life is important.
3. So... your business and life are important to others.
4. So... people will try to steal from you, because there are bad people in the world.
5. So... the security of your life should be everything you should care about.
6. So... buy Blackberry, it's SAFE. buy Apple, it's SAFE.
The logic is flawless, yet the first assumption (i.e. 1.) is false. I don't want to offend you and I don't expect you to understand that. But it's a sad reality all the same.

darkraver, 27 Sep 2014The problem is....the performance is incredible (but so is ... moreYou're missing the point. I know the engineering behind that the alternatives are much better. But many customers (not only Apple's, in just about ANY business) buy according to a certain lack of consciousness. Two days ago, my brother who owns an iPhone proudly informed me that he has spoken on his phone 200 days in the past 4 years. I never counted that, I never considered that because my Z always worked implicitly. But he was so proud of his achievement.
If you try to convince most Apple fans that other phones are better in every respect, you'll lose them: they see that their devices work, why shift? They don't understand. So you have to convince them that what they have is implicit in other cases, plus they get a looooong list of benefits if they shift to a new product.
+, one more essential thing
If Sony were the leading smartphone company, you'd get to see the same Xperia Z3 for the next 3 years. But they need to struggle (for our own benefit ;) ). Their struggle is commendable, but it's also beneficial and future-proof. That's what Apple lacks most today. Nokia did not give up Symbian (and what a brilliant OS that was) and here they are today, completely absorbed by Windows.
The day Symbian died should have been an important day for Apple. That day wrote the history of their strategy in advance. ;)

Gpu scores are strange
It seems iphone 6 plus doesnt have 1080p screen
Gfx 3.0
Onscreen 31fps
Ofscreen 1080p 18fps
If onscreen is 1080p then Why this so much difference?
Look at iphone 6 which has slightly slower gpu
Onscreen 29fps
Ofscreen 17fps
Clearly both phones has same resolution or at least in benchmarks

What was the in call quality like - not the usual tinny Apple sound? What about signal strength and reception. Some of us actually use a mobile to make a lot of calls and not just play games all day. Then there is the issue of security. Has Apple dumped the NSA backdoor or not. Dont care about Android as they are too open to be a sure device but I am really interest if Apple can now be as good as Blackberry. Security and privacy is far more important now than the specs race.

And convince people that the fact it can run the new iOS flawlessly is just incredible, avoiding the fact that new iOS is just as equal resource hungry as the previous one....
Its an app drawer with options screen for christs sake, how can it not run flawlessly on 1gb ram!?!
And they buy that for a 1000 bucks...
Its....beyond words to describe

I came to like this review, though the lack of some features remarked by them should have been remarked in other cases too, but I assume this was increased frustration during testing.
This is a fast phone, to say the least. Actually, performance is incredible, given the specs. In the past years, I've come to appreciate iPhones for the lag-free experience they offer. But I have one single question:
Why buy a phone (let's forget about price for a second, assume they all come at the same price), which comes with incredible power when it lacks so many features? Other phones offer such features and they too are lag-free. I won't experience any lag with my next Z3 (which I'm going to buy) and I'll be able to do so much more.
I actually have an answer, and it's a sad one: closed environments (such as Apple's) give the illusion of security (no matter what, the phone will work) and the promise of safety (no matter what, THAT application which deals with my privacy, for example, WILL work). But know what? Other apps from other systems work too. Apple is losing ground by their own language: 10 years back, when fighting Microsoft, they too knew that having alternatives leads to innovation and creativity. They seemed to have forgotten that in the past years. They rely on people's fear that other systems are not as safe or adaptive or easy-to-learn as theirs. And such a strategy is wrong from a marketing perspective.
For the past 2 years, I've become increasingly interested in Apple's marketing strategy: how do they do it to convince so many people to buy their products (let's now remember the prices of these devices) and, apart from contextual answers, I haven't been able to come up with a definitive answer. Well, this has changed:
The success of Apple is, as I said above, based on people's fear and on their laziness of learning something new. In the short run, this may be effective. But it's self-destructing in the long run.
So here's my prognosis:
- if they don't change strategy
- if they don't open their ecosystem
- if they don't improve the number of features to cover clients' expectations
- if they don't lower prices
they will close their business in 7-10 years.

PowerVR GX6650, 27 Sep 2014You should admit ....the Iphone 6 is more powerful
than la... moreWait and see your gpu performance with that 1gb ram....
Jezzz...
What good is your ecosystem if you connectivity and media is...enclosed to what apple WANTS you tu use...
You can dowload apps, call, take photos ane video, listen music, watch movies, play games...just like any other ecosystem out there....
But dissadvantages far outcome the few advantages iphone has
Mono speaker and mono mic for camcorder, NFC thatchasconly one available function, bluetooth strictly for two functions only...ou theclist goes on
I am not saying its a bad phone, it gets the job done, but its just the price that you pay for what it offers that is beyond intelligence and reasoning...
Top androids get much more job done...and for quite less cash
So yes, its an insult to reasoning and intelligence...
No matter how much you console yourself with benchmarks

Gsmarena please do the battery life test again. The 8 hours talk time has to be bugged. No way it lasts that long. It has to be like 14 hours. Must be a bug in the system or so.

PowerVR GX6650, 27 Sep 2014You should admit ....the Iphone 6 is more powerful
than la... moreNo, Nexus 5 is more powerful for a power user like myself who multitasks. Nexus 5 has twice more RAM. Unlike iPhone 6, it can have more web pages open at a time and hardly reloads apps. Yes, iPhone 6 has the better CPU but its all crippled by meagre RAM and iOS. If you prefer to use your phone as feature phone then perhaps iPhone more suitable. Not for me. You Apple fans keep getting a raw deal because you fail to hold Apple accountable; 1GB RAM is unacceptable in this day and age - you can do more with more RAM, demand it and stop being defensive to your detriment. You lot are just blinded by stupid loyalty.
Thankfully, unlike other journalists and bloggers who fawn to and worship Apple, gsmarena is doing a great job in pointing out the flaws as they see it. Big Up to gsmarena - the best mobile blog by light years.

AnonD-303126, 27 Sep 2014Its not that straight forward. Its more about the architect... moreMultiple apps open along with super graphic full games and no lag seems Apple proves 1gb ram is all that's needed on a phone. Android on spec wars they know if they didn't put fastest chip and high gb ram in phone nobody would buy it. Apple puts 1gb and people still buy and go crazy for it. Apple always high resell android big price drop. Outdated software after 2-3 months
