Credit due. Well done. In business the conferencing quality, sharpness and sound is really great which is so convenient. laptop can stay in the bag. If you release an all black one, the camera will camouflage nicely into the background. Now for a clever mini version .... ?

That selfie camera ought to give the NSA some nice high resolution images, when they're keeping track of you. Make sure you comb your hair.

That aside, what exactly is the HTC strategy here? Are they the only company that has put a better camera in their non-flagship phone? I don't get it.

I got excited, until I saw the first shot in the gallery. It's the one taken indoors, with a sunny cityscape in the back.

It seems that the 13mp camera has a pretty poor dynamic range, much like the GS5. The darks areas are too dark, while the light areas are completely blasted out.

The iPhone 6 does a much better job, and so does the Xperia.

          Whr is the ear peice???

Looks really nice, good features in the cameras and accessories! Way to go, now these devices need the proper marketing to succeed.

            Good luck to HTC

AnonD-316708, 08 Oct 2014not the best. spec, built quality, and price are comparable... moreJust to correct you, this is not a flagship, it's a midrange device even though the specs don't seem so.

Samsung are spending millions and to catch Apple, HTC are just taking innovation to the next level. Here in the UK, the M8 won almost every award going. As for Samsung, well they are just Samsung.

This Desire Eye has brought something new the table. As for the Galaxy Alpha, it's a left over iPhone 5s.

Well done HTC even gsmarena had to take thier hat off to you.

please don't compare htc with Samsung.htc has the best quality and UI but Samsung has court with all other companies.because Samsung is a thief and copy other patents....
htc makes tempest with introduces these new gadget. if add these new to great one M8(windows and android, butterfly2 and one E8 you will see htc products best gadgets and htc just needs advertising.
I think desire eye would priced between midranges and flagships.be sure the cost is less than flagships. thanks htc, very much.

I would appreciate htc design more if only they get rid the excesive bezel.

HTC is by far the best. Sadly the typical consumer is ignorant of its stellar devices thanks to lack of marketing. It aucks that Samsung and Apple in particular makes all the money. Sad. Let's hope it changes. Apple is just not innovating, Samsung is just over advertising.

So the compromise when using it as a telephone is to use it towards the edge as that's where the speakers are.... 😕
