Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact review: Rain or shine

In fact this tablet does have an IPS display, at least according to Sony's own website. It clearly states it under the features section. They've been using IPS screens since the Xperia Z2 (and in some Xperia Z1's).
The tablet looks really good, especially its thinness and lightness. Only big let down is it's freaking price. 400 euros? come on Sony. Would be an instant buy if it would've been priced at 300 but Sony never learns. Even iPad mini Retina is 300 now. Also, I don't expect a big pricedrop in the near future for this beauty. Pity.

About 5% of tablet users actually use a tablet for taking photos...it is just not practical, and camera exists just as an accessory if sometimes needed....
What counts most in a tablet is batterylife, additional features, multimedia and connectivity...
Z3 tablet compact wins in those categories above all ipads

I am planning to have a tab that i can use to write dive logs, note dive sites and much more. But since we often take with us new people and we often catch big fish i do need a ok camera to document and store this moment. I am using a z2 atm. But it is a little to small so a tab would be much better. Preferably with ip certcertified

Pictures are supposed to be taken with proper cameras. period.

As for claiming Android tablets cant do anything you are wrong they have caught up with ipads and the content is all there. Tell me can your ipad do bluetooth/wifi streaming? can you stream your ipad to a TV? Nope you need stupid Apple TV. Any other tablet you just connect or throw to the TV screen easy!
Send any file between any system.
SD Card storage for extra storage for media unlike your ipad mini you would need to delete to make room etc
Oh you can play games more than the ipad. Emulators playing all classic games. Connect ps3/ps4/xbox controllers to game!
The Z3 compact it obliterates the mini, longer battery and more connectivity options!
I think you need to try this tablet and you will realise your mini aint much!

Forgot to comment on the display contrast shift, if its as bad as this review states it could be a dealbreaker for using with the PS4 controller dock. Should have been IPS.

There was never any speculation of the kind, the only reason small Android tablets has sold well is the price, i dare anyone who think these are competitive to take a trip to South East Asia or China and try those tablets, they are utterly impossible to use due to low performance and low everything, much slower than iPad Mini (which isnt slow at all).
About this Xperia compact tablet, Sony is too stubborn, tablets are used mostly indoors and Sony cannot make indoor photos viable, still they dont wanna add led flash. This alone is a great reason to go for iPad Mini3 or Mini 2, they take good photos/videos in indoor light and dont need led flash.
The PS4 compatibility is a good reason for some though, when i recently heard that PS4 will finally get a good game in spring 2015 (not exclusive though, it will be available on PS3 and Xbox One/360 also) i can no longer rule out the chance that i will buy PS4 at some point in time. But what else to use and Android tablet for? Nothing (i have had Android tablets). And the PS4 streaming gives concern for network lags and surely very fast battery drain. I advice those who want this for use with PS4 to wait for latency tests from multiple gaming websites. For playing mobile games the Mini 2 blows this one away with quite a margin.

I really wish GSM Arena used any sort of a final score system for its reviews. It's extremely hard to be able to compare GSM's conclusion IN RELATION to other products to know whether one is superior than the other.

GSM I dont understand your benchmark tests, you pip the Z3 tablet against competitors already faster than it, where is the Apple Ipad Mini 2 or 3? That is its main rival not the 6 plus or Note 4. Bit strange not to do that.
