16 February 2015
It has been three months since our last tablet buyer's guide and a lot has changed. The landscape has received some new devices, big and small and the prices have dipped here and there.

flyinggeorge, 23 Feb 2015Tell me your opinion about Dell Inspiron 11 3147? Generally I like Dell. Now that Michael Dell bought back his own company and he is the boss again, I believe Dell is going to be more innovative. Matter of fact my eyes is on their new Venue 8 7000 with 3G/LTE tablet that is just coming out. As far as Inspiron 11 (3147) goes, it is a decent laptop, but using as a tablet is too bulky and heavy. Also a bit shy on the display resolution side for my taste.

Manufactures are telling me what I should have instead of listening what I would want. I want a 10" tablet running Lollipop, should have SD card input, decent display and battery life, but most importantly has a voice call capabilities. And yes, I won't put the 10" tablet on my ear to make phone calls. For one I could use Bluetooth. My opinion here in the US all tablets are one way or the other fall short in features. It is all out there, but it seems makers are not able to put together. Why? I have no clue.

i hope tablet designers will not thin out any side of the bezel. for example, the 4:3 aspect ratio of ipad air is very good for viewing in portrait position but the thin bezel sizes are just annoying even your fingers may hold onto the screen without triggering it, but this will still block your complete viewing of the screen. i don’t see anything better on aesthetics nor convenience in carrying for a big tablet by thinning a bit to its bezel. many tablet users are looking for comfortable viewing not for smart looking of the gadget itself. unless the tablet can be grabbed with fingers like samsung tab s 8.4 please do not apply such ‘anti-ergonomic’ design to full-size tablets.

Miss the z2 tablet on the list. Best tablet imo. Light and thin good battery, good screen and lovely design. And the nexus 9 isn't the best tablet. It has no micro sd.

And to the guy about the tab 10.1 its garbage for business.
You go to college glad you love it but it can't have lag to be good for business.
Maybe small companys could live with it.

                      Hello.
If you mentioned about Ipad Air, why you did not mention about Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition? It is almost same as Ipad Air but beats it with s-pen function and is way better than any xperia z tablet. Not to mention that it's price went so much down and many ppl can afford to buy it. For me still the best tablet 10.1 tablet in market for business - student usage.
                      BR.

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2015Serious work..? You get laptop for those. Get nonsense d... moreThere are 12-13" tablets with attachable HARD keyboards ... when attached, they are EXACTLY like a 12-13" laptop. So I don't see why not do that. I have a 15" windows laptop and a 12" windows tablet, so I know what I'm talking about. I have no intention in buying another 15" laptop, but I do want a 12" tablet with hard keyboard (I don't have a keyboard for the current one). There are a lot of situations where you'd rather use a tablet instead of a laptop, so why not buy a hybrid? Even now, without a keyboard, I still use Photoshop on the Windows tablet (simple stuff, but I do that once every two weeks for professional stuff). I have a mouse for the tablet, but I usually use a stylus.

There's no way you can make a best buy selection and not include ANY windows 8 tablet. In fact those are by far the best tablets for any serious work.
