Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. HTC One M9: Dressed to kill

30 March 2015
The last two generations of HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S were separated by the looks versus practicality debate. Samsung's revamped design erodes this difference, while HTC stepped up its camera game...

Which I think they just accidentally forgot.

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2015Both htc and samsung fail in 2015 both battery are down and... moreHopefully we see better results from the S6. Whether due to an update and/or other variants using a more efficient modem.

Supposedly most tested models of the S6 in pre release are using a newer and less efficient designed modem. Though it would have to be terribly inefficient to be the only culprit.

And actually many other reviews show much more promising results.
        I don't get it.
-The display is 20% more efficient than S5's.
-The SoC is more efficient than the Note 4's and supposedly S5's.
-The DDR 4 ram is up ot 50% more efficient.
-Their UFS storage memory is claimed to either be more efficient, or need more power but overall more efficient by getting tasks done much faster and efficiently.
-They used an all on one chip combining the radios which is claimed to save up to 80% in efficiency though I really doubt 80%. Maybe 40-60%? Especially looking at the results. And I don't think this includes the modem.

And the battery is only 250mah smaller. With all these dramatic efficiency gains how is the battery life this much less????? Is it the modem? Is it unfinalized software? Both? Just not making sense.

If it is a human error, I have no issues...this review seems to bring up htc or to match up to s6/edge! not even in the final words they have mentioned the advantageous of Samsung in the screen category! which is one of the most useful one for any customer.

There is always a winner in the display department and it's one of the biggest advantages Samsung has.
Maybe they accidentally forgot to add it in? They are only human lol.

They did select the winner in all other categories, but not for the screen category! screen is one of the most important ones to choose a winner overall.

be fair gsmarena, why didn't you select a winner in the screen category? you tried to save htc there! S6/Edge screen is the best in the market to date with super accurate colors. it is proved that M9's screen is the worst from htc in terms of color accuracy, you can make it out through those pictures...it is the coldest(bluish) screen from htc.

It was one deciding factor of the design. Not the whole picture.
And there is more to design than what material you like better or what device you think looks prettier.

And I hope it will have OIS finally too. And improved processing. They might also be using their newly designed sensors.
Though they will need a sizable battery to really take any leads this year.

I'm really surprised with the battery life of the S6. They used a more efficient SoC, display, ram, memory, and all in one radio chip.
Supposedly one culprit is the korean version having their new self made modem which is not as efficient as the Qualcomm one.....But how inefficient would it be to offset all the other largely improved parts????

I also expect/hope for the Z4 to retain it's lead over the One in speakers.

Used two GG4 panels which survived some brutal drop tests. And made it very slim and sleek with great colors behind the glass.....

But because it looks like Samsung it can't be premium? That's logical.....

And then you compare it to the iPhone 6 saying the i6 looks a lot better.....Which the iPhone 6 heavily borrows Samsung design cues in the shape and frame.....But again....claim nothing that looks like Samsung can be premium....

So what you are saying is that you only like all metal devices and will bash other devices based on this. And try and pass off your subjective opinions onto others.
