Asus Zenfone 2 is suck, cannot support Dual Sim Toolkit.
For most people sim toolkit is important.
My Old Phone like Lenovo S820 & imo miracle S89 support Dual Sim Toolkit

I am looking at buying the 32GB/4GB RAM version here in New Zealand but they all seem to have the same chip as the 2GB RAM version (Intel Z3560 @1.8GHz) rather than the Z3580 @2.3GHz. Is it only the 64GB/4GB RAM model (not on sale here) that has the 2.3GHz chip?

Marcel, 19 May 2015Is the bloatware from Asus actually uninstallable, or just ... moreThe bloteware comes from both ASUS and non-ASUS software. Those non-ASUS can be uninstall but not with ASUS. You can only hide it. But trust me you will find that some of the software are very useful.
Now that I writing this on chrome on ZenFone, I left with 2.1 gb ram. So yeah maybe you start with slightly more than 2.5 gb ram if you use the auto-start manager where you can disable apps on start-up.

AnonD-395224, 19 May 2015just got my hands on the 4gb/64gb version and you know what... moreIs the bloatware from Asus actually uninstallable, or just hideable? An app icon being deleted does not mean the app is. :)
Also, how much ram is free with the 4gig version? I heard around 2.5gb is user-allowed, which is one main reason I'm looking at it rather than the 2gb (which would have what, half a gig left?).

just got my hands on the 4gb/64gb version and you know what, it worth every penny. good audio quality (from audio technica headphones), good build quality, sharp display, beasty performance and decent camera for a cheap price tag. I was taken by surprise by asus. Some of the bloatware that comes with it can be uninstall easily. Get it!!

freeman70, 16 May 2015I have 4GB/32GB version of the Zenfone 2. One of the best ... moreI emailed them last week and replied that they have no plans on upgrading 5.1 yet. Maybe I should give them suggestion to upgrade the software to 5.1.

I have 4GB/32GB version of the Zenfone 2. One of the best units ASUS has ever released. Bit too much bloatware but most of it can be removed with the exception of an add-on for Omlet Chat. So far, I have received 2 updates in the 2 weeks I have had it. The Camera improved quite a lot after one of the updates. The Auto Brightness is a bit dim in certain situations but you can switch it off. It is a great phone for the price. The battery longevity and some light heating issues remain but I think these issues will be resolved when it is updated to Android 5.1. My brother's Note 3 battery life seriously diminished after upgrading to 5.0 from 4.4.2. He also had some stuttering and hanging. My Zenfone 2 has less issues with 5.0 than his Note 3.
Don't let others discount the importance of Android 5.1. I know 5.1.1 is dynamite because my old Galaxy S3 (i9300) is fast and has astounding battery life with the Resurrection Remix 5.1.1 ROM. The Custom Temasek and Resurrections ROMs are so good, I almost considered going back to using the S3 as my daily driver. The big screen and 4 GB RAM of the Zenfone 2 keep me from doing so. If ASUS quickly updates it to 5.1 and resolves most of the current issues, they will have a global hit.

Marcel, 14 May 2015You might have to wait until the reviews from the Malaysia ... moreI guess I have to wait for a week or two. I also email asus if they going to update their software to 5.1. If they really plan to I confirm going to buy it.
