Adiyel, 30 May 2015The only way for FHD to consume more than 2K is for the FHD... moreIt's not about the screen consumption it's about the cpu/gpu working harder to be able to control more pixels which leads to a waste of processing power and battery consumption for no real gain. I've got xperia z1 and i can't see the pixels. They are small enough, the focus should move to more battery time. Everything else is great, processing power, screens, cameras. Generally speaking for all high end phones.

Not that i'm defending sony but i honestly believe more than 1080p on such small screens is overkill. It's a waste of processing power and battery and have no real gain. I believe 720p is enough, at most 1080p for high end phones but anything above is just pointless, i would rather they improve screens battery consumption and colors.

Mike, 30 May 2015A flagship without optically stabilised camera? What a joke... moreYeah no OIS should be listed as a disadvantage, and also that same old almost useless tiny LED flash. Not the screen resolution.

While they are now focusing on mobiles mostly.....they comes up with this shit....

The only way for FHD to consume more than 2K is for the FHD to be very old inefficient tech, or to have a power hungry backlight. And you're right about the sharpness. My old Xperia ZR was as sharp looking as my sister's GS4.

            BTW, happy Z3C owner :-)

              Main disadvantages
              Non user-replaceable battery
              No wireless charging
Qualcomm Quick charger not included in the retail package
Screen has the same specs third generation in a row, when rivals have mostly moved to 1440p
              Battery downgrade hardly justified
Expected retail pricing is too steep

HUAWIE HONOR 4X (octacore ) is better than this

A flagship without optically stabilised camera? What a joke. How long is Sony planning to bluff users with this same 20 MP sensor that's years old? No progress for years now.

It should be especially embarassing for Sony considering their good camera division. Looks like they don't have any experience in mobile photography.

Maybe smartphone sensors nowadays are large, but they're still not large enough to resolve gargantuan amount of details. I observed some samples coming from G4 and some leaves/greenery are showing with that blob look or I can also say, painterly look. I can't speak for the s6 tho bec. photos maybe taken during the fall season (not sure of the season). What's good is that this is still not from the final production so the already nice photos could still improve. But all I can say is that I'm becoming happy to see that Sony is stepping up. Maybe, plus OIS in the future?

sony smartphones are just great phones in general and very responsive. from a UI point of view, the Z1 compact and Z3 compact i owned were fantastic. but the camera is just plain ridiculous. i've had several phones and the sonys are just the worst available cameras out there - for me. even my moto G 2014 takes better pictures. i can't understand how other brands use sony sensors and have better results.

Can someone please compare the performance of the Xperia Z3 & this one & then tell me "THERE IS LITTLE OR NO UPGRADE" ????

Seriously..many of the parameters are double..I dont understand how we can believe what Samsung shows in the benchmark when we know they heavily tweak to give the best in these test but not real life..

How come a FHD resolution on a 5" screen is a disadvantage?
I was waiting for the SGS 6, but when I saw the screen resolution, and some gaming benchmarks, I was like WTF, who needs it on a tiny screen. It kills all the gaming performance, even with their super CPU and GPU, and drains the battery more. Don't push the companies with this kind of reviews to put nonsense resolutions and other unneeded "improvements" in their devices. Whats the point in the new devices with new SoC's, if there's almost none performance growth, because of this resolutions. IMO.

I also have to agree with others, a very poor review, certainly don't need 2k at all, my 6.44" Sony Z Ultra still has 1080p resolution at just 342 ppi and it's great, better than all the Samsung rubbish. Weall know Sony make the best phones and this minor upgrade still makes the Z3+ one of the best phones out there.
