Another pointless watch that is less use than having an analogue watch and mobile phone as it wont work without the phone nearby and the very limited battery life makes it far less useful than a standard watch.
bought this to provide on wrist calls and navigation but its useless at both, the software is buggy and it is just a big awkward lump of metal with the dubious benefit of a limited variety of watch faces.

AnonD-354090, 05 Jun 2015Is there anything more stupid than smartwatches and people ... moreYou wouldn't understand until you actually use them. I kinda thought the same way as you, but it is actually very convenient as you don't need to constantly check your phone out from your pocket.

I have had this watch for a little while now. What I found out is 2 of their watch faces will crap out sometimes. Like the one that shows the altimeter, step count, and compass will crap out sometimes. So now I stay away from those watch faces. Not to mention there is a ton of others on the play store. I use a mickey mouse watch face now as well as a few others on my Urbane. ;-)

AnonD-354090, 05 Jun 2015Is there anything more stupid than smartwatches and people ... moreNot the 1st gen of smartphones. Even iPhone was terrible until 3G which was still kinda bad but it was the start. Wait till the IOT comes about, it will be more useful. Also, some people buy it for fitness too which definitely beat carrying a big ass phone to go running.

AnonD-402477, 03 Jun 2015Watches may be smart.....but not their price.....hope that ... moreAgreed, these watches are designed to become obsolete in a year or two, so shouldn't be priced more than $100-200 tops.

AnonD-354090, 05 Jun 2015Is there anything more stupid than smartwatches and people ... moreDon't knock people for buying a smart watch. While I think the prices of them should be closer to the $100-200 range tops, the market is coming around to them being useful. And they look better than what google wants to do with putting glasses on everyone's face.
Getting notifications while on the go are more than justification for a smart watch. It eliminates the need for people to walk around like zombies staring down at their phones. Its great for quick glances and quick replies.
And yes Rolex, Omegas, TAG are great watches that have a long history line and last a lifetime but so do fossil and seiko yet you mention those luxury brands. Some might think you're into expensive jewelry.
Just let people decide what they want to buy and don't knock someone else for it.

Is there anything more stupid than smartwatches and people who buy this useless garbage. Smartphones are great, useful, they kicked out laptops, you can do anything with them.
Smartwatches are pointless, starting from all sorts of Samsung, LG and finally to AppleWatch
Real watch, something midrange but top quality like Seiko, or high end like Tag Heuer, Omega, Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, Hublot, Breitling, Longines etc is million times better.
Quality, styling, tradition, materials, batteries or automatic, they last a lifetime, they never get old, they have same price...

The size of the bezel really puts me off; there's no need for it. The "thickness" of it at 10.9mm is also a major problem. Get it down to 5 mm and there 'might' be a chance.

AnonD-307967, 04 Jun 2015"No ambient light sensor"..... WHAT THE!!!Yes strange,my Sony Smartwatch 2 (2013) has one.
At first I thought it had it because you can dim it by covering the screen...

The Moto is popular, because it's relatively cheap and it's still one of the best designed Android watches.
The Apple Watch is a considerable better watch, but neither is really useful enough to be worth wearing. I'll stick to my Basis Peak, which while not perfect, at least does something useful.
