LG KG920 vs. SE K800 vs. Nokia N73: One more photo shootout

31 January 2007
Recently we've got LG K920 for testing; this is one of the first 5MP camera GSM phones available on the market. We've decided that it's a good idea to test it against one of the best currently available 3MP camera phones, and also great rivals - Sony Ericsson K800 and Nokia N73.

nowadays I heard the new comers from Thailand (I-Mobile 902) which has 5 MP CCD made by Sony with Xenon Flash and can be interpolated to 8 MP. Seems that it has been reviewed by mobile-review.com (http://www.mobile-review.com/review/imobile-902-en.shtml). Perhaps it would be fair to compare with LG KG920 as it's much cheaper for the price than LG's one. You can check the site then.... cheers

Well the verdict is there. The K800 takes better photos which accurately represent the scene.

The N73 is 'cheating' to achieve its more 'crowd-pleasing' results.

And the KG920 is really not much apart from the 5MP sensor.

LG KG920 has CCD sensor, so it works far better than the CMOS installed in the two other phones. CCD takes better light sensitivity than CMOS. the 5mp resolution does it's job against the 3mp ones.

            my opinion.
LG has the best image if only while manual settings are installed, it will work as a true digital camera if that's the case. K800 has better details than N73 though you may see it not as sharp as the ones in N73, but just as the reviewer said, this comes at a price. fine details are lost and not good for image editing. newmobile.com review before has proven that K800's flash works far better than the LG. if SE wants to compete with LG's 5mp camera KG920 in image quality, they should implement CCD sensors in their cybershot-K800 successor and add more settings for further control. Nokia has to learn not to enhance the automatic color setting so and not to overadjust the saturation and do good in implementing carl-zeiss specs in their lens. if they really want to bring good imaging to it's customers and not to make them Wow=D.

well, the 3 phones are good at camera capability

Both K800i and N73 score equally but in different ways, so there's no point for the fanboys to argue abt which one is better. Just go for your choice

The review is very good and fair. Hope for comparision between KG920, N95 and SE next 5mp phone when these phone are out
