Jay, 20 Jan 2016It has the best camera, but it's far from being the best ph... moreI must say, I own G4 which is basiclly the same phone a v10 (only design is different). Camera is indeed fantastic. Both rear and especially front 8mpx shooter. Just perfect. Only small minus is shutter speed which is a bit faster on iPhones. Screen (5,5 QHD) is superb, second to maybe Samsung QHD Amoled, but very close. Performance is not good in benchmark tests, but in real life it is flawless. Speed, multitasking, no lag, no freezing, it all works great. Maybe in demanding games you can experience some lag, but I don't play games that much. I have played Need For Speed Most Wanted and it worked well, like on Playstation.
Battery life is only real downside, I am power user and it can't last a day. Around 6-7 PM I have to recharge. But it has removable battery, which is a plus, you can swap them if you want, but I don't do that. I have powerbank plus car charger and this is enough.

also it would be good to know what settings were used per device (i.e did the lumia have 'rich capture' on?) and the Sw version of the devices.

i know with the latest sw for lumia it improved the camere huge ammounts. would be interesting to know which version they used on test.

Remember thats point and shot test.

I must admit, as a 950XL owner (who's very happy with his camera, btw), the laser focus on the V10 beats the phase detection on the Lumia, by a narrow margin. But the noise around the edges of the petrol station sign in the day shot is too pronounced on the V10, compared to the smooth Lumia, and the Lumia is the only one to get any green out of the petrol station sign at night - the others just blow it out completely. On balance, looking at the overall pix rather than the crops, I'd still go for the Lumia, as I'm a sucker for dynamic range.

basically, the only aspects of a camera that were being tested are DETAILS, NOISE, EXPOSURE AND CONTRAST. what about color accuracy?flash? You should also provide a "reference photo" shot by a DSLR camera so people could judge better. Worst is the photos were not taken at the same moment resulting to slightly different scene which could somehow significantly affect the picture quality. The test therefore is FLAWED, misleading !!!!

Though I'm a huge fan of Zeiss camera for their details and color rendering quality, I had a feeling that iPhone 6s would probably be the winner because somehow there's something wrong with 950/XL camera. And here I found that LG V10 is winning in camera shots ... What an awkward surprise, really. But, Bravo LG.

                    Sic transit Gloria mundi.
So, no more days of Lumia photo dominance. Microsoft ruin the Last stand.
                    What left?
To wait for new Nokia in end of the year.

so if we go by ur logic tell me this ,what does the bigger apreture do in low light ? It takes that light and gives the details which is better than the results from the smaller apreture devices.no one needs to be a genius to understand this.

I have a small problom with the result page? Why havent every batch of photos gotten there list og phones. I have a Lumia 950 and I am by fare neither a Apple-faneboy or Apple-hater, but isent the ranking of the iPhone left out of every comparesment exept for the one it won? If it lost all the outhers (I it wery well should with does horrible photos) couldent you write that?

I m not surprised that LG v10 is winner that have show great photos BUT I m surprised that its battery life SUCKS TO DEATH and its front camera dont have MANUAL MODE and much features! because you go solo oversea and need to take great photos of yourself and scene.

Aperture is just a hole through which light passes and hits on sensors lower the aperture more the light goes in that's better in low light situation as maximum light passes in.
In a Dslr aperture counts much as we can very the size of it with the help of diaphragm in the lens. Aperture can bring a bokeh effect that is background blur or can magically bring all the background and foreground to focus.
Wider aperture helps in better low light pics but I don't think so it has anything to do with details in the shot
As u can get a perfect pic on a Dslr even if the aperture is set of f/32 or f/16 so bro u do ur homework first know about a camera and then cone

The Lumias pics were more rich and by far the more consistent. I personally pic the pic's by the lumia ! (except the low light video, it could be the aperture setting though)

I told u the role of aperture size that is for night shots and in a Dslr it is also used to get bokeh effects or keeping both background and foreground in focus by adjusting the aperture size.
