Acer Liquid Jade Primo review: Windows Prime

01 April, 2016
Windows phone models aren't that many, which makes sense as the platforms has a market share of less than 2%. You might even say they are a select group of phones, each designed to occupy a niche of its own. So the Acer Liquid Jade Primo is a specimen of a rare breed.

AnonD-294135, 01 Apr 2016when it says no FM radio, does anyone actually still use a ... moreYeah...it becomes the thing of the past, same as analog TV. I mean some people may still use it, but most switched to internet radio, which is easily accessible these days. To be honest I've never actually used FM radio in the phone, so to me it's a very irrelevant feature.

AnonD-294135, 01 Apr 2016when it says no FM radio, does anyone actually still use a ... moreNo switch off date for FM in the UK has ever been agreed - only suggested, due to it's sustained popularity and relatively slow uptake of DAB.

It's like breath of fresh air away from all the Microsoft Lumia's.

This is fantastic news for Windows Phone, this can give them some steam going forward. The only other players coming out this year would be the HTC 10, iPhone 7, and Xperia X

For that aperture it's awesome, wonder what it could do with 1.8 . Shame also is that FoV will be smaller in videos and shots with 16:9 ratio. Still, 4K is like gone trough noise filter while details stay there. If nothing else, it did put to shame 950's,... and it's really something different from Z5. Also color of picture (because of aperture) made me remember 808, in 4k this phone could be the closest to it, great feast.

Phone kinda looks nice, but that logo and camera bump look like s**t.
Also, the lack of Glance Screen is a big letdown, so I'll pass.

So it is Acer then. That makes 4K videos better than anything else out there at the moment. Too bad it's only this one feature of the camera. If the whole thing would be market leading, it could be a nice selling point for the phone. Still impressive Acer.

Continuum is a joke. So much limitations.
