Samsung Galaxy Note7 review: Thinking Big

16 August 2016
All great speeches start with carefully prepared notes. For yet another year Samsung has taken the role of a modern-day orator, pushing for a return to personal handwriting against the trend of detached digital text.

I am the least bit interested to confirm to your model of the ideal human mindset. It's the Internets, deal with it B-)

Amazing review of the Note7. Doesn't feel biased or "paid by Samsung" like so many "reviews" out there. Personally really disappointed at the loss of usual Note-exclusive improvements compared to its 6 months old S (cpu, gpu, ram), though they did improve the screen (brighter and HDR support), especially with LG coming out with V20 next month. I suppose that I should take samsung's advice and compare the note 7 to the note 5 to find true improvements.

AnonD-259899, 18 Aug 2016lol BS, Note 4 was widely available 3-4 months after launch... moreYou get that each time you remove context from what people are saying and try to inflame sillyness based on words that were not said, continuing in your 'fanboy/girl' direction; you show yourself for what you are..

Clearly if you cannot understand such simple statements it removes all validity of claims you 'being well researched' and a 'master' understander/thinker (or whatever tripe it will be next)..
Because it shows your reasoning powers and ability to derive understanding and context are in fact very small.

I do not understand what the Notes time frames of being available has to do with the present market , or, more importantly, my statement to which you replied 'with authority'.
Anyone wanting to buy a Samsung Note (generally for the SPen nowadays), would have to buy what is available.
There is no doubt the Note 7 is great steps forward from the Note 5, which is what a new user would mostly have to consider from...
Whichever way they go, they will get a great phone.

It won't stop you from writing "REKT" at the end of every statement, so, "ENJOY"..
(hey would you have a pleasant discussion with any of your family members, say at Christmas time, educating them of your opinions the way you do here?... would your family put up with the way you talk... No? Why shouldn't you be banned by this community then, given you have openly admitted you come here just to create disharmony..? Family have to endure you at Christmas time, we do not. I guess a free login is worth nothing so you figure 'what the heck'... and it is pretty obvious you lack any sense of worthwhile sociality to belong to a group or community.., but I know you will just quote "yawn", (didn't read, psychology belongs on a different forum; As do you!)

Unless you are a zealot there is no harm in not waiting in a long line for the doorbusers just so you can have your phone on day one. Pro tip: Try being less of an Apple type drone, it helps.

Sexism not meant; everybody is composed of the dual energies in nature. The best men can harness this as a strength. 'The Rock' is brilliant in "Be Cool" (as is everybody else).

Why do we have digital assistants called Cortana and Siri (actually most people in an android thread wouldn't but, gist stands)?

Maybe we just want to 'give orders to women'?
            Oh no! Sexism comment realised...

            I like a feminine phone.
Might relax me and allow me to maintain 'courtesy, manners, and respect' when talking with people.
Perhaps internet forum dwellers the world over would benefit from a Note out of Samsungs book ;-)

Only reason I can think for such huge discrepencies between GSMArenas Note 7 review and displaymates'.
It would affect brightness numbers, possibly power consumption, and definately JNCD results (delta from perfect colour, Just Noticable Color Difference)

Clearly you have an agenda, and arguably, posting as anonymous, not much 'backbone'.

You make out that iOS users are stupid becuase they don't know how to use an operating system.
All those really intelligent people out living life and being happy might argue you're stupid for 'having to learn an operating system 'just to use a phone...'.'
                Food for thought?

AMOLED cinema mode on s6 and s6 edge and also s7 and s7 edge makes images vibrant and colours pop. amoled cinema mode on note 7 makes the screen yellow and colours look very bland. why did they change this mode? samsung should have left it as it was. very bad move

Sam-gh, 17 Aug 2016A copycat of what?building world's first ever phablet whic... more1. Even then in the beginning it was an iPhone copy. Congratulation to Samsung for inventing the brick again, thanks to them we don't have smaller 4.7 inch flagships.
                      2. We had capacitive pens even before they "reinvented" them, 1€ on eBay.
                      3. Samsung's Super AMOLED panels are the worst, you get stuck pixels after less than one year of usage, all S6 Edge panels from early 2015 look like trash now with pink tint everywhere.T he other AMOLED screens from Nokia, LG and Motorola didn't suffer this problem.
                      4. Dual Edge display = more broken phones = more phones for Samsung repair centers to fix = more money for Shamesung because there is no proper tempered glass screen protector compatible for it yet, they all use very thin adhesive on the borders.
                      5. Gear VR made by Oculus, Samsung bought them to make them more expensive and sell them overpriced for the sheeps.

Though I am not going to buy it due to its feminine aesthetics, I had suggested them to make note 7 (then note 6) symmetrical on both sides, and make edge screen ever so slightly curved. They did exactly same. And see, this is what with which gsmarena are happy mostly design wise.

Samsung just went downside.. WHERE IS NOTE 6? samsung? panic much from the competition haha
Currently, because of their marketing team they are able to sell there products otherwise they are not impressive if you are looking value for ya money..

I've been waiting to upgrade since Samsung Note 4. I skipped Samsung Note 5 because no MicroSD. It looks like I will be skipping Samsung Note 7 as well.

                                No flat screen. No buy.

Here are some of the negatives of having a curved screen.

                                1. Less useable screen at the same size.
                                2. 5.7" Samsung Note 4 readable area is bigger then the 5.7" Samsung Note 7.
                                3. Pictures, videos, and text get warped along the edges.

The Note 4 is the last true phablet that was worth buying from Samsung.

I'll be looking at the LG V20 for my next phablet purchase. It should have the same camera from the LG G5 which is better than the Samsung S7 and S7 Edge.

The only thing I will miss from the Samsung Note Series is the physical home button and the stylus.

Another plus for the LG V20 is that probably won't be bootloader locked by carriers, meaning you can root it. Samsung has been locking down bootloaders since Note 4.
