Can the next Samsung galaxy s8 be built with a larger screen. All powerfull applications in it with a small screen like the current s6 & s7 is just not convenient. Make the world become truly mobile on our palms.

I wonder if te Note 7 would then score even higher on DxOMark, as it is even better than the S7.That would then put it on 89 points, the same as Google Pixel.

But jPEGs should also just be compressed. Not processed.
Additionally, a PNG/compressed-RAW and RawVideo and FLAC audio should also be covered in the Note 2017 and LGv20.

Purchased s7 edge 29.06.2016.
Screen cracked 20th of august..not dropped just cracked. ..samsung...that's not covered...they fixed for $280.
WOW ...today 14th september...screen cracked again...no not dropped. Samsung sorry you will need to pay again.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2016Shame your OS SUCKS and the phone is virtually worthless no... moreJust compare it to all smartphones' cameras and you will see that it has the largest sensor and loseless zoom and carlziess optics and led , xenon flashes and OIS and pureview tech and largest numbers of megapixels so you can crop or print photos with excellent resolutions and all these features you can't get them all in one phone or DSLR exept this phone .
it's still worth it.
Yes, it's old and it's OS sucks but stills a beast in smartphone photography,
it's a DSLR in a phone.
i also have a moto g 2015 , note 3 and nexus 6p ( android phones )
iphone 6 plus ( iphones )
nikon D3300 , canon 5D mark 2 ( DSLRs )

99% of people don't care about this (or wan't the massive file size) which is why all phones tweak/sharpen and compress photos.

I wish, that all cameras with multi-aspectation-image sensor have a software, which allows capturing the FULL image-sensor. Of course, that image would probably have no standard aspect ratio, which is irrelevant, and the picture would have dark cornets, because the image sensor's corner hit the limit of the lenses Field of View (FoV) .
But from that image, you could extract all aspects ratios. Every possible aspect ratio is inside of that image. This also brings the advantage, that you can decide for your preferred image ratio AFTER the picture gas been taken. You no longer have to struggle to decide. This is similar to the slow-motion video editor and video files being saved equivalently to real-time with audio.

I also wanted to mention, that a Lumia 1020 (1030 never came!?) needs five seconds to process one photo. The camera can be quickly launched using the physical shutter button, which I really miss at Samsung (the GT-i8000 had one), but the distant time between two photos is impossible.
I like (love!) the fact, that their camera application limits zooming zo lossless. I wish that our camera-software did so too. This would mean disallowing any zooming for full-tesolution photos.
There was something, that I forgot to mention, but I will complete it in reply to this comment, as soon as it jumps back to my mind again.

I would imagine it would be for Samsung international warranty claims etc.. just an identifier as to which region your 'stock' came from.
What are your concerns?

A truer flagship just didn't exist.
I enviously owned the 'step down' Nokia 920.
It had sony BSI camera sensor, optical stabilsation, dedicated shutter button, and was a great camera phone.
The build on the phone was exceptional, and some of the features I haven't seen done elsewhere.
Crazy stuff that doesn't make 'spec sheets', had some ultra refresh display, double tap screen to wake, and 'glove mode'.
The double tap to wake feature doesn't kill the battery either; i get over a week between charges (business line 2 phone).
Anyhow 1020s being in vastly less supply, will always have high demand; lots of consumers think megapixels matter most.
If I was travelling around my country taking landscape shots it would be one of the best phone cameras to do it with! (That huge sensor allows for depth of field effects as well)

Hello.
In my opinion, a software should save the photo untouched. NO sharpening, NO noise-reduction, no effects at all. Why? Not just because processing needs ressources. Because you can actually apply effects, sharpening and noise-compensation with image manipulation software. Noise reduction will wash out details. That looks better, until you zoom into the image. Then you see that detail-loss, which is not visible, when looking unzoomed on the monitor at it.
And you can never get those details back from the noice-reduced image. But you can noise-reduce a detailed, noisy image. So that is an one-way-process.
The same facts apply for the other ones in a similar way.
But burst shots have always made best shot superflous. BestShot is limited to eight shots, and actually, I hate feature removals, but best shot is an exception. It was so superflous! I don't mind having it on my phone, but I did never use it so far. Actually, the newer Galaxy phones are able to extract the best shots out of burst shots.
There was also shot&more, which put five features into one. Here is some information and why it is still not as good as bust shots. Brust shots can be used for anything.

With regards to a 'glitchy' Note 4, I had two standouts issues; I found after lollipop, my cameras focusing was way off,.. it would take sometimes twenty seconds of 'assisting' the phone to find focus. It actually made the camera completely unusable for me. And Marshmallow didn't correct that.
Perhaps a hard reset could get it back to happy? (Not sure what your 'Note 4 glitches are'),..
The other glitch that started happening two weeks before the Note 7 launched was to do with battery (magically dying at 33% or 50% battery randomly, then rebooting with nil.. or 4% and then running for many many hours without dropping another 1%).
I found that non 'fast charging' the battery whilst the phone was in a turned off state restored the battery to proper working condition.
I usually drain down to around 20% and then charge back up again.. I know I did a few things differently with my usage habits the week leading up to installing Marshmallow.. so the battery getting out of alignment with reality was acceptable. And recoverable.
Anyhow,,,. Hope your Note issues are not serious. The Note 7 is nice. I wouldn't throw away a Note 4 for cheap though.... great backup phone or hand me on for some VERY LUCKY family member...
